What an amazing opportunity to get to meet all teachers of the year from all Maryland Counties and spend a beautiful day on the bay! I am honored. #MDTOY#FCPSTOY#ChesapeakeBayFoudation

Proud to join Frederick County in observing National Recovery Month during September with Frederick County Goes Purple. I was able to do this with my cool purple mask thanks to Halo Branded Solutions. #MSDE#FCPSTOY
Needless to say we’ve been busy in the library! We already checked out more books in the first five days than we did all of last school year! Kudos to our amazing English Dept. for encouraging choice reading in their classes!👏 #oneteamfhs#fhscadets#fcpsreads
@FCPSBookClub A6: "When early developmental stages have been compromised...early childhood education provides a place and a time for children to repair and heal through the loving relationship & co-regulation of another adult." #FCPSBookClub
@FCPSBookClub A5: I have had several former students over the years who return to my K class to read to my students, help me prepare materials or just check in first thing in the morning. Those connections or "touch points" have the potential to transform a child's day. #FCPSBookClub
@FCPSBookClub When I first started embedding regulation practices into my daily routines, it felt forced & unnatural. However over time &with practice, my students responded positively to the practices and used them independently. Mindfulness after lunch became my favorite mindfulness time
@FCPSBookClub I am working to include more mindful/regulation practices in my daily routine. I love the brain-aligned bell work - what a great way to begin the day. Looking at this list of activities through the early childhood lens - I plan to try The Things I Carry and Bucket Inventory.
@FCPSBookClub "Discipline focuses on solutions not retribution." This is so true. We come along side our most troubled students and let them know we are on their side - we will find a solution together. #FCPSBookClub
We are honored to introduce the finalists for the 2019-2020 FCPS Teacher of the Year Award, the county's most prestigious award for teachers.
