In 3 days time a parole board will decide whether to release my rapist from prison early. This process has been traumatic and exposes the lack of care for victims. Despite the hurt, I want to use my pain for change and tomorrow I’ll be launching a campaign for parole reform 🧵
They are very good at reading people’s emotional temperature & tell you what you want to hear to tick the right boxes to be released from prison.
I spoke with @ladbible about stalking, coercive control, serial killers & psychopaths.

For too long, survivors have disclosed poor treatment in family courts. Their testimony–and analyses of judgments–point to bias as a serious problem faced in the courtroom.
@riverlightorg 's "In the Judge's Words" campaign is a great example of how survviors are treated by court professionals on a daily basis. These are just a handful of submissions they received, check out their page to read more💔
Our 'Breaking Bias, Building Justice' campaign calls for bias training and increased transparency in the family courts. Research by .@herEthicalAI reveals attitude of disbelief and ‘stereotypical assumptions’ about survivors in England and Wales. This is exactly the reason we are campaigning alongside .@riverlightorg to ensure survivors feel confident coming to the courts for support and protection.

[1/5] Women’s Aid and 76 member organisations issue a joint letter to the Home Secretary following the Southport attack demanding it be seen as part of the wider epidemic of violence against women and girls plaguing the country.
Huge thanks to our commissioner, Alison, from @LSCICB for making the Lancashire IRIS team from @LancsVS@FCWA_@_wishcentre this wonderful, amazing IRIS cake!! Looked great, tasted delicious and celebrated the power and impact of advocacy and support!
Survivors of #DomesticAbuse have the right to have a say in the running of the country, just like everyone else. But voting in elections can be difficult when you need to do so anonymously for your safety.

Yesterday I spoke at the launch of the @Right2Equality report on #presumptionofcontact . This presumption has facilitated a pro contact culture which is silencing victims and children and putting them at risk. Reform is well overdue https://t.co/5tJKF0dwtL
We have been calling on the Government to reverse the presumption of parental contact in cases involving domestic abuse, due to the severe, long-lasting harms and risks that perpetrators of domestic abuse cause to children. Read more at @tortoise: https://t.co/prTU5jdtRW
