A side of Coach Knight you rarely saw reported. Which was by his own design. His mom was a school teacher. He was an avid, lifelong reader. There has never been a college sport coach who put more emphasis on his players getting a degree. He donated yearly to the Orrville Public Library. Also the Boys Club, and YMCA. Was over at his high school alma mater today, and saw this:

He also donated $100,000 for new bleachers in the gymnasium.

@21nixon2020 @Cardinals1942 Actually, he accepted a ban from MLB but not from the HOF. Big difference. The HoF adopted the “mutual ban” policy after Pete had signed his agreement. They did so at the request of the MLB Commissioner.
