That’s it: I defended my dissertation, so I’m officially #PhDone! You can now call me Dr. De Malsche, PhD in Linguistics 👩🎓 (although Fien still works as well, I guess)
I gave my first ever presentation as a doctor last week, and as if that wasn't exciting enough, it was a keynote! Thanks @MTB_UGent and @GeertJacobs123 for the invitation (and for the lovely flowers 💐)
This paper is also a chapter in my PhD, and one I'm particularly proud of (so many rewrites 🥲). It's the first of 3 articles on language in performance appraisals planned for publication, so stay tuned!! 🤗

At the end of the week, I’ll be defending my PhD dissertation, and if all goes well (🤞), that will mark the end of this journey. Here are a few things I want to share in hindsight — a 🧵
Choose your supervisor(s) carefully. Nothing will impact your PhD trajectory more than this decision, so be sure that they're the right fit for you and your project
