Godot does not support gRPC. It makes sense to support RPC through its native implementation. Having an HTTP client is useful. But a welcome addition would be a GDExtension for gRPC...

Was this the same problem Torvalds was talking about in a video I saw some time ago? He said it's an impediment that prevents Linux from being widely adopted as a desktop...
Year of Linux desktop will never happen as long as glibc is de-facto standard libc. As far as I know, this regression is wontfix, so many games just won't work anymore.
Imagine being a game dev from 5 years ago and making a native Linux version of your game in a good faith, that's 100% a net-negative money-wise, only for it to stop working in a couple years. Backward compatibility on Linux does not exist as far as regular users concerned, and the only way to make software that works in years to come is to make it for Windows, and hopefully let Valve and Wine teams handle the rest.
@marek_rosa@Zeys_Tweet In reality, it is not a country. It is a kind of federation, not as united as it would like to portray itself. The different european countries often pursue their own interests, even within the EU.

@ForceDev_@jnvcia@FR3NKD Sure, but fragmentation is a cost. You don't have a single platform to invest in and your software has to adapt to different situations. It's a clear cost that you have to consider. So often you only support a few "certified" distros or even offer your own distro.
@jnvcia@FR3NKD There is no single stable desktop platform that a software publisher can invest in (whoever has done so only supports a few major distributions, and mostly not for desktop). This kind of problem was also highlighted by Torvalds. He said his hope lies with Valve...
It seems the arrival of new languages and concepts pushes the older ones to evolve: Scala->Java, Rust->C/C++. A good thing because we need better tools. There is a trade-off: newer languages are cleaner but less supported, older ones have more support, but become messier.

1. We are moving to modules (replacing the headers and includes).
2. Use std::span instead of pointer addressing.
3. Adopt concepts.
4. Profiles!
