Shoulder instability. It's all getting a bit silly! A longform piece for MSKMag & @TPMPodcast. I'd appreciate you having a read/listen & sharing. Lots of helpful shoulder instability info & references.

@GregLehman Then your understanding is correct. It's % more likely to get injured (on average) you can answer this question using this
Odds ratio - Free MedCalc online statistical calculator https://t.co/XEffbdx8Ju
@GregLehman Not a stats person but broadly yes. Interestingly the 95% CI is rounded to 3.dp rather than 2 like the others in table 2. Usually when 95% OR contain cross or contain 1 = not significant. Not implying anything other then inconsistent formatting.

Excellent work by A.Pennekamp exploring this question & if normalisation is even needed

People with FSHD demonstrated limited arm movements primarily from altered scapular kinematics. Evaluations that focus on arm position alone are insufficient for explaining lost arm function. Read more here: https://t.co/uaxeDXH9Ka

Had lots of fun writing this for #MSKMag & @TPMPodcast . Shoulder instability. It's getting a bit silly! Lots of helpful resources & insights

@margie_olds@TPMPodcast@physiojack@JackAChew Thanks @margie_olds. I'd agree FEDS simplifies (apart from having > 30 different combinations) but think this is where better measurements & concepts would make things simpler. Some of this being done well by Philipp Moroder & colleagues. https://t.co/6J2CMNPkyq

Currently in press - but for an early look at our our paper in JSES Reviews, Reports and Techniques - A study evaluating differences in 3D upper limb kinematics and surface electromyography measures in adults with and without FSHD

Many congratulations to Dr @leone_enza who passed her viva with no corrections. An important body of work for people affected by FSHD and those who help with their care. Well done Enza
We have now opened at both our sites AND randomised our first participant! Thanks to all those who have helped get us to this point. We will keep posting updates on here and our study website https://t.co/aCWRVDg8A7

We all knew this, but here are some data to prove our impressions....
A high % of #systematicreviews address the same topic and yield different results. Most are methodologically flawed.
