Fear Feasts is back 🍎🖤
In Snow White, food is never innocent. Apples, hearts, hunger, and desire become tools of threat, temptation, and control. This episode explores food, fear, and power in the classic tale and its darker reimaginings.

In our latest @fear_feasts , we explore the food symbolism of Pan’s Labyrinth. Still discovering new things in this film nearly 20 years later. Grateful to @RealGDT for that.

There’s something very M.R. James about today’s South Dublin tale…a shadowy figure first glimpsed at a distance, drawing ever nearer after an afternoon in the library… 📚👤 #Uncanny@danny_robins

WATCH THE SKIES ★★★☆☆
Watch the Skies is a tender core wrapped in cosmic chaos. It is an uneven but affecting genre blend, part satirical sci-fi, part intimate character study. Think Interstellar meets Ad Astra by way of Don’t Look Up, with a touch of There’s Something in the Barn thrown in for good measure.
At the heart of the film is a quietly moving story: a young woman’s unwavering search for her father, lost somewhere between conspiracy, starlight, and silence. As the world spirals into panic over mysterious lights and state secrets, she refuses to give up. What makes her journey compelling isn’t just her grief- it’s her courage to go against the pack, to believe in something bigger when everyone else gives in to fear, mockery, or apathy.
That emotional thread grounds the absurdity, giving the film its most memorable moments. The tonal swings—between eerie, moving, and downright goofy—don’t always hit the mark. But its bold visuals, ambitious ideas, and raw emotional centre make Watch the Skies worth a look, even if not all its signals come through clearly.
