@Speed3DP I was learning substance for work a few months ago and it was a slog learning the software because of the severe lack of good tutorials. PLEASE DO THIS. Both beginner and intermediate was desperately needed.
@henningsanden I needed this post. Modeling hiatus for 2 months, got a real adult 40hr/wk job, and now I'm struggling to get back into it (time and motivation). The only thing that feels worse than not modeling is not *wanting* to model. But I feel less alone now.
@rileybrown3d Oof, this is me. Every idea becomes huge and then my perfectionism hits and I get overwhelmed by the scope and inability to do it justice. But if I just model that table. I'm one step closer to *something* great.
@rileybrown3d Also, gives you something to bend. The term "pushing boundaries" exists for a reason. I find the most interesting/unique creative works are created within constraints they bend.
@henningsanden 1. Heightened appreciation/profundity for the art.
2. Knowing anatomy has changed my life in small but meaningful ways. The human body is just *cool* now. Exercising is more fun/ intuitive. Identifying/ addressing aches & pains is easier.
Life is just good with anatomy in it.
@JeryceDia Oath to Order, Final Hours, Astral Observatory in no particular order. Zelda music is always good for atmosphere, but Majora's Mask hits the SOUL
@andrewpprice Yeah, I'll get around to adapting. But I'm livid and heartbroken that I'm going to lose my favorite aspect of 3D and those feelings are justified.
Im fine to adapt. It's that no one is granting the space to be angry while doing it.
@henningsanden Mentoring mentor while you mentor your mentorie?
OR hire a mentoring mentor that wants to learn 3D so you can mentor your mentor while your mentor mentors his mentor.
@khtrammell Sketchfab for sure. I modeled a lot of VR environments in my last job and Sketchfab saved me *so* much time by providing common objects like tables, chairs, trash cans, trees, etc.
