Russia launched more than 420 suicide drones and 20 ballistic & cruise missiles against Ukraine overnight.

2 people were killed & 15 people were injured, the youngest is a 12-year-old boy

Kyiv, Kharkiv & Ivano-Frankivsk were the main targets

Kyiv was attacked by missiles and drones during the night. Numerous fires and destruction were reported.

The footage shows a residential building in Kyiv destroyed as a result of the Russian attack.

A new massive Russian attack on our cities. It was the highest number of aerial targets in a single day: 741 targets – 728 drones of various types, including over 300 shaheds, and 13 missiles – Kinzhals and Iskanders. Most of the targets were shot down. Our interceptor drones were used – dozens of enemy targets were downed, and we are scaling up this technology. Mobile fire groups were also active – they downed dozens as well. I thank all our warriors for their precision.

At the moment, efforts are ongoing across many regions of Ukraine to eliminate the consequences of last night’s Russian attack. The main strike targeted Lutsk. Damage has also been reported in the Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions.

This is a telling attack – and it comes precisely at a time when so many efforts have been made to achieve peace, to establish a ceasefire, and yet only Russia continues to rebuff them all. This is yet another proof of the need for sanctions – biting sanctions against oil, which has been fueling Moscow’s war machine with money for over three years of the war. Secondary sanctions on those who buy this oil and thereby sponsor killings. Our partners know how to apply pressure in a way that will force Russia to think about ending the war, not launching new strikes. Everyone who wants peace must act.

I instructed Ukraine’s Minister of Defense to prepare the next Ramstein meetings in various formats. The UK, along with Germany and other partners, is currently keeping Ramstein operational, and in August–September we expect – very much expect – the format to deliver new steps for our Ukrainian resilience.

This week, we are preparing a meeting with members of the Coalition of the Willing. Everyone in the world can see how much Russia is relying on the use of “shahed” drones. They have few options left to prolong the war, and Russian-Iranian drones are one of those few. I thank everyone who is helping us counter these attacks, and of course, everyone supporting our defense against Russian missiles.

A British volunteer killed defending Ukraine. He believed Ukraine deserved freedom.

Ben "Budgie" Burgess, 33, from Portsmouth, died on 20 June while operating drones in a village in Sumy Oblast, where Russian forces are advancing.

The former British Army soldier had been fighting in Ukraine since 2022, evolving from artillery work to medical evacuations before specializing in first-person-view (FPV) drone operations.

"He was among the best pilots we had," said his fellow British fighter "Azrael."

"We were the last two foreign fighters in our regiment," he said. "He was my family here. I've lost many friends in this war—he's my biggest loss," Azrael added.

Forty mourners gathered in Kyiv to honor Burgess on 30 June.
