PSA just because I'm not posting about the Israeli government's ethnic cleansing of Palestine does not mean I don't care. Please direct your hate somewhere else. I prefer to talk about actually meaningful and important politics IRL where I can make an impact, not online
and we KNOW for a FACT that gunil has expressed progressive beliefs because he went on that debate show and defended foreigners from discrimination with his whole chest. he is not the raging bigot y’all want him to be!!!!
people more confused on whether or not he said bitches and not the fact people broke into his dorm and car. Id call them bitches too hello?? hes UNDER reacting
kpop companies should stop making rock bands if they’re not going to let them operate as a band sorry but every band in the alt/rock scene has been telling crazy fans to fuck off, with much more colorful language than gunil used, since the beginning of the genre
A lot of people can’t seem to grasp how badly xdiz is being stalked 24/7, arguing saying gunil should’ve watched his words?? I gathered a tiny bit of evidence from rednote for this tweet. Mind you, this is a SMALL portion. If I were him I would’ve cursed worse trust me…
seeing how fans are mad xdiz is cancelling their upcoming events is so upsetting.. whether you like gunil or not, why are you not considering the member's feelings for ONCE? how can you be happy about one of their closest friends leaving and then get upset they need time like..
and at this point if what you’re choosing to be mad about is the fact that he called his stalkers bitches, you’re mad about the wrong thing and are missing the point entirely. you’re not on a moral high ground for thinking his choice of words was wrong when his safety was at risk
Aside from the hurt, how do you think this is going to work @jypnation lol
Villains won't accept a new member and putting a session drummer on every performance will degrade the quality immensely.
Yall have not thought this through
in a standard idol group, parts can be redistributed or re-recorded, but in a live rock band, the drum is literally the heartbeat and backbone of every single song. gunil wasn't just filling a spot.. his training (esp coming from berklee), his timing, his dynamics and the energy he brought on stage set the entire foundation for xdiz. you can't just throw in a back up drummer or act like it's business as usual when the literal anchor of their sound and their leader is gone. the chemistry they built together while playing live instruments cannot be duplicated or replaced...
i'm so fvcking frustrated!!
Gunil, the leader and drummer of K-rock band Xdinary Heroes, was dropped by JYP Entertainment this week after a recorded phone call surfaced online. The recording, leaked by a woman who says she used to date him, captured him making disparaging comments about fans, which some have criticized as misogynistic given the group's largely female fan base.
Gunil confirmed the recording was real in an apology letter to fans, but said the remarks were aimed at fans who had stalked him, breaking into the band's dorm and tracking his car with a GPS device, not the wider fan base.
Now, more than 22,000 people have signed a petition calling on JYP to reinstate him. "The fact that JYPE and Studio J have not said anything publicly about investigating or taking legal action to protect their artist is extremely disappointing," the petition reads.
Do you think JYP handled this fairly? Let us know in the comments. ⬇️

the part that hurts me the most? that even with everything that has happened to him today, he still pieced everything he wanted to say so calmly. there was no resentment in his words, he was hurting the most and yet he still laid it out so gently for us so we can take it all in
i hope more people pay attention to the fact that jype’s official statement said they decided to end gunil’s contract “mutually”, when in reality, in gunil’s own words, he was forced to accept their decision to kick him out of the band. we cannot trust ANYTHING they say. i hope-
it pains me that he felt like he couldn’t open up to anyone close to him, not even his own members, because he didn’t want to worry them. so he poured his fears and frustrations out to someone he’d dated for 2 weeks, only for it to be exposed and picked apart by strangers
@XH_official Whoever signed off on this, i hope your sleeves always get wet when washing hands, your pillow will always be the wrong temperature and you will always spill coffee on your white shirts!
GUNIL IS HUMAN! Let him be human!
Yall need mental health training!
at this point, i’m not going to continue supporting the group. i’m sorry, but i genuinely can’t openly support a group knowing that a member was removed by the company without even being given a proper chance to apologize or explain himself.
what gunil said was wrong. i’m not trying to excuse that. he said things out of anger and frustration that he shouldn’t have said, and he acknowledged that himself… but at the same time, these were PRIVATE conversations that he never expected to be recorded and made public. there’s a huge difference between saying something privately while venting and intentionally making those statements publicly to hurt fans.
and there’s a reason why he said that as well, he didn’t just say that just because??? he was talking about the distress he experienced from sasaengs, imagine people breaking into where they were staying, putting airtags on his car, following him, and repeatedly violating his privacy. CLEARLY i can understand how someone who was already mentally exhausted could reach a breaking point, i could’ve done much much worse, hell gunil was better than me.
he didn’t leave us with just a company statement, instead he chose to explain everything himself. he admitted what he did, apologized, took accountability, and gave us the context even when it meant exposing deeply personal things. at least he didn’t leave us wondering forever.
While I am disappointed that he chose the language he did, I know that he truly regrets it and will, regardless of public eye, take the opportunity to better himself and learn about misogyny and how to unlearn it.
two things can be true at once. gunil using a misogynistic insult was completely wrong and inexcusable, but his frustration, vulnerability, and the pressure he was under as an idol were also valid, especially knowing sasaengs had literally put a tracker on his car…
