@dougprior1@ABC And don't we now know how idiotic that was? Just because we did things a certain way in the past doesn't mean it was correct. I prefer to believe in science.
@SocJustice_poet Wonder if soon people will need to sew a fabric shape to their clothing, before they are rounded up and off to the big camp at Guantanemo Bay. Something very familiar and terrifying about all of this. And horrifyingly the majority of Americans voted for it. #shameful
"Raining concerns". Defamation threats against local and small publishers are on the rise. Actions no (BRS and Lerhmann debacles are deterrents), but threats yes.

@7NewsSydney The Mayor most certainly does not speak for the majority of her community. Thank God Minns is looking at sensible mitigation. Also she has already met with @jihaddibmp and Rose Jackson, so not really sure why she's making such a fuss? Minns has also visited Hawkesbury twice.
@MFWitches Yes. But only because of the disinformation and the extreme polarisation of politics in the US. Also telling people they can't vote for him is like a red rag to a bull IMO. I think Aus Libs use the same playbook as GOP as well. Scary.
@newscomauHQ The #Westpac outage and #Optus outages that have crippled large parts of the country recently have demonstrated we are not ready for a cashless society. Perhaps if we had more reliable internet, and cyber security...but the country grinds to a halt, so no.
@melissahoyer So awful. I didn't know her but have a uni student working to get through as well and it really hit home. I am so sad and distressed by this.
@newscomauHQ Has the vote already happened, or do we now cancel it because "A leading pollster declares it done and over"? Bear in mind pollsters have got it very wrong last couple of federal elections...
@annabelcrabb@ABCTV@SenatorJordon Loved the episode. @SenatorJordon has become my favourite Senator*. What a wonderful human being. *It's a bit nerdy to have a "favourite senator", but there you go.
Peter Dutton has now proposed a new referendum for constitutional recognition as well as proposing to legislate the voice.
So why exactly is he campaigning against the voice referendum happening right now?
It’s pretty clear that this is about politics and not about recognition, listening and better outcomes for First Nations people.
