‼️This Christmas give towards 'The Gift of Warmth‼️
Can you imagine how it must feel to have tried to sleep on the cold streets with just the clothes on your back to keep you warm?
In Autumn 2024, it was recorded that there were 154 people seen sleeping rough on a single night in Greater Manchester. It is clear there is a need for action.
While we are unable to provide beds, hot food and brew can keep someone going.
Each Friday night I come out with Feed Manchester I am motivated to keep volunteering. I know the team feels this same way as well.
I enjoy going on the runs, meeting new team members and hearing the stories of those on the streets. 💚
Whilst it’s nice to see the familiar faces and meet many new ones, the busyness is a reminder as to why it’s important to keep doing this. In an ideal world, it would be quiet or we wouldn’t even need to do this at all! Unfortunately, that isn’t the case.
A few words from one of our absolutely fantastic Team Leaders at Feedmanchester -
I started volunteering with Feed Manchester nearly 3 years ago.
Last night was a busy night as it is most Friday nights, with plenty of regulars saying hello.
Every hot food portion, sandwich pack and cup of tea makes a huge difference, and right now, with the weather becoming wetter and colder, we need your help more than ever.
If you’re able to donate men’s clothes, food or funds, it will go straight to the people who need it most
What a week it’s been in Manchester 🌧️ – the wet weather has increased the number of people looking for support. In fact, demand has been so high that, this week, we ran out of food far quicker than expected 😔.
A huge thank you to the organisers, speakers, and everyone who took part – your support means the world to us. Together, we’re helping to build a Manchester where no one goes hungry on our streets. 🥘✨

Thanks to the generosity of attendees, we raised an incredible £665 through raffle ticket donations – every penny will go directly towards supporting those most in need across our city and we can’t thank you enough 🙏🏼💚
We are so grateful to have been chosen as the charity partner for TEDx Northern Quarter this year! 🌟
It was such a privilege for Feed Manchester to share our work with such an inspiring community of people who care about making a difference.
We also could not do this without our wonderful volunteers. You know who you are. Tonight's team epitomised selflessness. We managed to give out many meals, sandwiches and hot drinks tonight. We could not have wished for a better team.
#donations#giving#manchester 💚
These two donations will fund one weeks supply of sandwiches and drinks in one go and so we are so incredibly grateful to those two wonderful people.
We rely totally upon donations to allow us to do what we do.
Last night genuinely highlighted why Manchester has the reputation for looking after each other 🙌🏼
The team were fortunate to get £110 in cash donations so a big thank you to the lovely Uber driver who kindly donated £10 and to Albi at the Greek restaurant who donated £100.
With the support of our wonderful volunteers each week, we're able to help those who need a little helping hand. Thank you to each and everyone one of you this week.
And without YOUR support and donations, we'd struggle to do just that.
Last night, on their weekly Friday run through Manchester City centre, the team met with old and new faces alike, offering up a warm meal, a hot drink and a good chat. Our friends of Manchester, and the world over, shouldnt experience homelessness.
Did you know that there are over 354,000 people living in the UK who are experiencing Homelessness?
Did you also know that there are almost 1.2 million empty homes in the UK?
Makes you think, doesn't it. There's never a valid reason for homelessness!
There is so much to be learnt from each other, especially when we come from all walks of life. Many people on the street are ignored and overlooked so stopping and having a chat for 5 minutes can make all the difference. 💚
A bit of a longer one last night but we can put that down to lots of great conversations within the team and with our friends on the street. These Fridays often act as a good reminder of how important it is to stop and talk to those around us.
Please continue to donate anything you can to help our friends on the street who desperately need it. Thanks so much for your continued support.
