Dad to five crazy kids - one with type 1 diabetes - married to @haucksy, cattleman, Catholic, @NotreDame and @KState fan! EAT BEEF! @outdoorbank @footecattle
Tell me there’s a better scenery than driving by a playground filled with kids from K-12 playing together on a Homecoming football morning and then turning the corner and seeing Old Glory being raised on Main Street… I’ll wait! God Bless America and today maybe an extra special blessing for the next generation. Life is good—even great! Just look around!
Today is the Feast of the Most Holy Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
It can trace its origin to Sept. 1683, when Vienna was on the brink of falling to the Ottomans.
Polish King John III Sobieski led a united army of nearly 80,000 Christians — spearheaded by 3,000 elite Winged Hussars — to break the siege.
In the decisive cavalry charge, they shouted “Jesus, Mary save us!”
When the Turks were routed and victory was secured, Pope Innocent XI declared a churchwide feast for the Holy Name of Mary, which we still celebrate today!
Happy Labor Day from the Foote Family of Companies!
Today, we recognize and appreciate the hard work of our employees, partners, and community members. Thank you for all you do for our company and communities. Have a safe and restful day! #FooteCattle#BEEF
Two years ago, America faced two futures.
What could have been under a Kamala Harris regime:
-Fifth-generation ranchers imprisoned over a fence line that had stood for 125 years.
-An aggressive push to stop eating meat... unless it was lab grown.
-Washington regulating every ditch and pothole on the farm.
-“Emissions reporting” for cow burps and gas.
INSTEAD, America chose @POTUS. We chose an American agricultural comeback.
And in just 18 months:
✅ Record breaking agricultural trade, with 20 new trade deals and frameworks opening markets around the world
✅ Major commodities at record highs
✅ Record demand for great American beef, creating stronger opportunities for U.S. cattle producers
✅ The most pro-biofuels administration in history, driving demand for American grown feedstocks
✅ Re-shoring American fertilizer production, including two of the largest plants in history breaking ground in the last week
✅ Moving American agriculture back into American hands. From farmland to producers and critical agricultural assets
✅ Record-breaking work against herd-destroying pests like New World Screwworm (with only 3 active U.S. cases after 18 months of unprecedented action).
✅ 5 million acres opened for grazing
✅ Greater scrutiny of foreign ownership and the Big Four meatpackers controlling roughly 85% of beef processing
✅ Lawfare and regulatory pressure against farmers and ranchers stopped cold
✅ A sweeping initiative to rebuild the Great American Beef Herd
America chose FARMERS. FREEDOM. REAL MEAT. And SUCCESS.
We will never stop fighting for our producers, and we’ve only just begun.
Thank you, @TeamPillen, for your leadership and partnership. And to Nebraska’s ranchers and cattle producers for an honest and productive conversation.
Under @POTUS, we will continue listening directly to producers and putting American ranchers FIRST! 🇺🇸
Tired of all of this beef import talk and pretty sure that I won’t be able to process my own beef so decided it was time to just get ready for football season!
The best year in the history of the American cattle business is the year the ranchers are leaving.
He sells his calves for the highest prices anyone can remember.
He watches the national herd fall to its smallest since 1951.
He watches the calf crop fall to its smallest since 1941.
He sees his neighbours quit in the best market in living memory.
He hears the President tell him to get his prices down.
He watches that President quadruple the beef coming in from Argentina.
He loses the packing plant that employed a third of the nearest town.
He counts four companies standing between his gate and the plate.
He finds every incentive pointing at selling the herd and none at rebuilding it.
The record price is real and he is finally getting it, ten years too late. It arrived after a decade of drought and forced selling that took the equity, the neighbours and the moment to expand, and it arrives now as the reward for having something left to sell rather than as a reason to breed more.
Because rebuilding means keeping back the heifers he could sell today at the best price of his life, feeding them through two winters, and betting on a market three years out that his own government is filling with cheap imports on purpose.
On Friday it filled it again. Three hundred thousand tonnes of foreign ground beef, tariff free for ninety days, sold at a quarter under the price he is getting, announced as the thing that will help him rebuild.
Best prices in history. Fewest ranchers in seventy five years.
Fifty years they told him his beef was killing the country. Now it costs too much, and that is his fault as well.
I took my son and daughter to a Forrest Frank concert recently... and I have to be honest: As a pastor, this is why I believe this man is actually a PROBLEM.
