However, the allegations around MKO Abiola were not proven.

My take on the ITT story is: There's no smoke without fire. However, it's not good to run down man's reputation if he has not been found guilty.

I read few months ago America's Washington Post on the ITT scandal: ITT Allegedly Paid Millions to Obtain Contracts in Nigeria.

It's not unlikely that shady financial transactions could have taken place in the Nigerian arm of ITT as alleged, but it is imperative to note that the allegations were not proven.
MKO Abiola was not found guilty of any corrupt practices in ITT.
