on the anniversary of the I-LAND finale, i’m reminded of the video of ni-ki’s family’s reaction when he was announced as part of the ENHYPEN lineup... ni-ki was his parents' fourteen-year-old baby as well as both a younger and older brother facing so much on his own, isolated in a survival how in a country where he was barely learning the language. i imagine the whirlwind of emotions and think about ni-ki’s bravery in stepping forward to chase his dreams, even when it was terrifying, as well as his family’s immense support in letting him pursue them, despite everything they must have felt seeing him alone and vulnerable

the fact that ni-ki is part of enhypen today is due to his courage, but also to the love of his family, who always allowed him to grow while knowing that his dreams could always become reality🥹❤️‍🩹

Anniversaries are celebrated with those that choose to stay and celebrate it.

Even in real world scenarios, not kpop related, if a co-founder of a company leaves, the company will continue to celebrate the formation anniversary without that person.

You can acknowledge someone’s former contributions without involving that person in every anniversary celebration. Because the fact of the matter is that even if you want to drag it up every year, what does it matter if the person you’re bringing up isn’t even celebrating it?

Anyways, I choose to celebrate with the Enhypen members who are still celebrating. After all, they are the ones performing under the banner of Enhypen, whom I-land was created for.

And now, we get to see so many of those dreams become your reality.

We can’t fully express how grateful we are to have witnessed you grow, not only as artists, but as people. We have watched you take steps forward, face challenges, and continue reaching for something bigger. To see the things you once wished for slowly unfold before your eyes is a privilege we will always treasure.

More than anything, thank you for being strong, especially during the moments when everything felt messy, uncertain, and almost unbearable.
