Proud of my kids for sharing their dream for the world just like Martin Luther King JR. These are some special students with some amazing dreams! I can’t wait to watch them unfold ✨#scscloverdale#BlackHistoryMonth@SurreyChristian

@CityofSurrey@Surrey_Schools The grade 4s are picking up garbage every Wednesday as part of our formational learning experience! This ties in with our biome unit and students are actively participating in taking care of the forest biome in our local #surreypark@SurreyChristian
Today students worked in groups and read books that all had a lesson at the end. Students will be writing their own stories next week with a lesson to teach others. The brainstorming session was a success ✅ @SurreyChristian#grade4#whatisthelesson
Students created a collaborative mosaic project for our 2021 Christmas program! It was so nice to see each student take pride in their particular section and work as a team #beautycreating@SurreyChristian
What is your deep hope for grade 4? #teachingfortransformation
Using the students initials on the white board when they contribute ideas helps to acknowledge their participation and encourages others to do the same. When I started to write initials, more hands came shooting up.
As we think about #TerryFox this week, our school has challenged us to ‘Try like Terry’. My kiddos wanted to encourage those around them. They had the idea to paint encouragment rocks and we will be delivering them to classes on Monday 🤗✨ #communitybuilding@SurreyChristian
Trying a new #engagementstrategy today. The students were super engaged and excited to finish their work to move their sticky note. Students moved their sticky note when they were finished each section. This offers fun movement for students and a visual for teachers to see
What makes a good teacher? Student? And friend? Getting the students’ perspective! The students participated in group activities with their houses and presented to the class afterward 🌟@SurreyChristian#collaboration#communitybuilders
Back to school next week!! 🍎 mandatory masks will be new for some of my grade 4 students coming from grade 3, so I made some fun personalized reminders to put in my classroom. I am hoping this encourages them 😅 #scscloverdale@SurreyChristian
Grade 4s went exploring at Tynehead today! They had a fort building competition, played games, completed a scavenger hunt and did some chalk art #creationenjoyers#scscloverdale a perfect way to end May!
We had a furry friend join our class today, meet Chubby Cheddar. It’s safe to say, after chubby entered our class, the motivation level to finish their stories was below 0 🐭 after we caught the mouse, the kids toured him around the school and then set him free in the forest 🤍
The grade 4s delivered their postcards to their grandparents today! They were so excited to go walking on a ‘busy street’ #communitybuilding#grandparentsday@SurreyChristian our postcards are going all over the world. Some are heading to Langley and others are heading to Korea!!
