VO: Are you married?
Me: Yes, I am. I also have a two-month-old son.

VO: Is your baby Mexican?
Me: Yes, he was born here.

VO: Is your husband Mexican?
Me: No, we are both Nigerians.

VO: When do you expect to complete your PhD?
Me: August 2027.

VO: Will you remain in Mexico for the entire duration of your program?
Me: Yes, I’ll be based in Mexico to complete my program.

VO: Do you plan to return to Nigeria soon?
Me: I'm not entirely sure yet. I have a six-month research window that allows me to do laboratory work in any country of my choice. That might include Nigeria.

Me: No, I haven’t.

VO: This will be your first time in the US?
Me: Yes. (with a big smile)
