a lot of diets didn't become meat based until european colonizers brought cattle and other domesticated animals. some of you are very historically unknowledgeable.
Cooking without meat doesn't require any more effort than cooking with meat. I genuinely don't understand what people think vegans eat that is somehow both prohibitively expensive and demands hours of labor-intensive preparation
If someone has a disability or health condition that requires meat, they should eat meat. If someone is in poverty and for some strange reason meat is the only available affordable option, they should eat it.
But let's be honest about things
The "white chauvinist vegan" is a figure similar to the "sexist male Black revolutionary" and the "homophobic Islamic resistance fighter." Sure, these individuals exist, but their prevalence is greatly exaggerated by bad actors as a way to turn Leftists against radical movements.
The reality of voting for a “lesser evil” in perpetuity is that you eventually end up with an even more right-wing administration because you keep consenting to right-wing policies supported by the liberals. YOU are why things are worse. YOU, because you lack principle!
If you are not Indigenous and are just buying your meat from the grocery store, you should not be using the existence of Indigenous hunting practices to escape your discomfort when confronted with the impact of the meat industry. [1/2]
Some of y'all think socialism means "living comfortably". Both Marx and Lenin were describing an ongoing class struggle. If you are okay with exploiting the global South to have free healthcare, you're not socialist. You just want the ugliness of ur capitalism hidden from view.
Always amusing to see how African anti-socialists and anti-communists vehemently reject the idea of the people owning the means of production, but ask them about the system that exploits workers (and enriches parasites), they’ll tell you “Oh yeah we invented that.”
