The future of our local colleges, is under real threat. Years of underfunding mean that colleges cannot cover the true costs of running essential courses. The result is clear: fewer courses, fewer options for learners.

Learning Support Lecturers have, quite literally, been decimated @CofGCollege since 2016. The last 2, who offer specialist 1:1 study skills, part funded by DSA/SAAS, are at risk of redundancy whilst their specialism is outsourced, privatised, costing the tax payer more £.

If a fair pay award can’t be delivered for Lecturers without additional @scotgov funding; why is it that @CollEmployScot are not very publicly banging down the door for more money?
They don’t want us to get a pay rise? They want redundancies? Trying to protect their own egos? 🤷‍♂️

Tomorrow FE in Scotland will grind to a halt due to a national strike day. @EISFela lecturers along with @unisonscot support staff will walk out and without them, the colleges say they can’t run. Read that again, without THEM, colleges cannot run. 👇🏼
