The Maldivian people have overwhelmingly rejected President Muizzu at yesterday’s polls, both for the referendum and the local council elections.
This verdict is the result of the obliteration of separation of powers, a failing economy, and the growing tyranny of the administration and the president, all of which the people have wholeheartedly rejected. What is clear from the debate and discussion of the past weeks is that there is appetite for real reform, and though President Muizzu’s referendum was rejected, we are clearly overdue for a rethink of our constitution and our systems of governance as a whole.
With the win comes a deep responsibility. We must work with the people toward finding solutions that serve all of us, and execute the mandate given to us wisely.

If Iran dropped a bomb on US soil and killed 168 girls, WE all know what America’s response would be. Nuke Iran.
America is the only country to have ever nuked another country. Yet so many fools have been brainwashed that it’s Iran who cannot have a nuclear weapon because they would bomb everyone. But we all know, it is America that has no restraint to bombing anyone at will and using a nuke. Knowledge is free, just as stupidity is free!
For the criminal Macron, it was fine to hit civilian energy and water supply facilities, as long as they were Iranian. But when this French monster saw that the Islamic Republic of Iran could hit back, he called for a moratorium. The collective West has no shame nor humanity.
When complex nuclear negotiations are treated like a real estate transaction, and when big lies cloud realities, unrealistic expectations can never be met.
The outcome? Bombing the negotiation table out of spite.
Mr. Trump betrayed diplomacy and Americans who elected him.
Congratulations to the people of Hanimaadhoo and Bodu Thiladhunmathi on the official inauguration of Hanimaadhoo International Airport. The airport will prove transformative for the region’s rapid economic development.
Along with the airport, Hanimaadhoo would need to strengthen its wider economic ecosystem. Especially by expanding tourism capacity and enabling new enterprises to unlock the region’s full potential.I hope the government remains steadfast in seeing this through.
My sincere thanks to Prime Minister @narendramodi, the people, and the Government of India for their support in making this landmark project a reality.
