@allgarbled Good news! You can just do standing marches while watching tv (or whatever hands free media consumption u prefer) & get 20 mins out of the way real quick
@PlayerSpud @tylrbrner22 @gutknott Honestly i think depending on the carrots/peppers & how they’re cut, either would be a fine way to impart natural sweetness to balance the heat, but i can understand ppl thinking carrots are weird, most ppl dont use em as much as they could in the kitchen 🤷🏻♀️
@BasedMarcos @AllFatherOW @transemacabre @haususpiria91 @poisonjr You do know that like, legally blind people who still have sight are not uncommon and use the internet, right?
You’re just being ablest by being like “that issue doesnt matter to ME specifically, so it doesnt matter at all and you’re all being dumb” lmao
@BasedMarcos @AllFatherOW @transemacabre @haususpiria91 @poisonjr You’re probably confused because you’re talking over people instead of genuinely asking clarifying questions in an attempt to understand! You should try understanding before arguing, maybe youd be less confused.
@BasedMarcos @AllFatherOW @transemacabre @haususpiria91 @poisonjr & you also seem to be making assumptions about what people are considering ablest. I barely know shit about the app, but even i know the main complaint for accessibility is hyperlinks not being underlined and forced CWs on disability content.
@BasedMarcos @AllFatherOW @transemacabre @haususpiria91 @poisonjr That would be fine if mastodon didnt tout itself as being those! But they do, n if they wanna talk the talk, they need to walk the walk. Ignoring criticisms from disabled users (like refusing to change links bc “underlined links are ugly”) is both ablest and counterproductive.
@BasedMarcos @AllFatherOW @transemacabre @haususpiria91 @poisonjr I think the main issue here is that you think something being ablest implies intent and malice, when it doesnt. Pretty much everyone has internalized ablesm (just like racism) and becoming aware of it is an opportunity to be a better person, not a scourge that makes you bad.
@BasedMarcos @AllFatherOW @transemacabre @haususpiria91 @poisonjr Being inaccessible or accidentally ablest doesnt make a thing or a person Bad, it just means theres shit to work on, and if you’re actually dedicated to developing a public utility (like mastodon claims to be), that opportunity to improve is a GOOD thing.
@BasedMarcos @transemacabre @haususpiria91 @poisonjr Im not arguing with you about the app, im specifically correcting your “its not a sleight against disabled people” comment. It doesn’t have to be to be ablest! Nothing does! Ablesm can be, and often is, accidental. Thats my entire point, i have nothing else to respond to.
@BasedMarcos @transemacabre @haususpiria91 @poisonjr What part of “this is a general statement, ablesm does not have to be intentional to be ablesm” did you not understand? Genuinely.
@BasedMarcos @transemacabre @haususpiria91 @poisonjr Btw i dont know shit about mastodon, this is like, a general statement. Ablesm does not have to be, and often is not, some active malicious intent. More often than not it is accidental, as a result of forgetting about or ignoring disabled people when figuring out the design.
@BasedMarcos @transemacabre @haususpiria91 @poisonjr Something being ablest ≠ something being a sleight at disabled people. Ablesm is often accidental, and collateral damage. Its still ablesm, its still not accessible, and disabled people telling each other these things is not necessarily an attack on anyones character, just info.
