When Ilham Aliyev publicly ridicules Russia, it turns the country into an object of ridicule—and for an empire, that can be dangerously damaging.

Aliyev's other statements have also drawn attention in Russia.

🤡 Russia accused Germany of taking part in "terrorist attacks" on Russian territory and summoned its ambassador after the German Embassy published a video mocking the Kremlin over the fuel crisis

In the video, the embassy said Moscow was discussing fuel imports, rationing, and stronger air defenses, while there was a much simpler solution: end the war against Ukraine.

After the clip went viral, Russia's Foreign Ministry summoned German Ambassador Alexander Lambsdorff, accused Berlin of involvement in Ukrainian strikes, and claimed the embassy's messaging resembled "the worst practices of Nazi propaganda."

The Russian Foreign Ministry also noted that the ambassador would return to his home country by car, claiming this disproved the embassy's statements about fuel shortages in Moscow.

The German Embassy said it would continue speaking out against Russia's war of aggression and highlighting its consequences.
