I think @LupeFiasco hates the fact that he spent so much time saying that Kendrick was not great with entendres and punchlines and sharp lyricism that when Kendrick proved that he was indeed pretty damn good with all that, Lupe has to run and support Drake in any way he can. I really feel like that. And I think Lupe is the best rhymer of words in the world. But he was talking down on KDot skill level for awhile and in a few different interviews. So when KDot proved him wrong, it was like “fuck. Ok but so what. I support Drake anyway hahaha…”. I really feel that way. Because there is NO good reason that Lupe is saying Drake should own Reasonable Doubt other than him tryna spite KDot.
This beef has taught me that ***** and ***** ruined hip hop and the ways in which the general audience understood the genre. They created a legion of Stans who love them but not hip hop and those people began dictating and redefining what it means to be great.
Against all odds, though life is hard we carry on
Livin' in the projects, broke with no lights on
To all the seeds that follow me, protect your essence
Born with less, but you still precious; just smile for me now…
Rap has been so dumbed down, ppl forget it’s actually an intellectual art form that takes a great amount of creative prowess to do well. The poetic nature of rap has been watered down.. but on a high level, writing rap is for intellectual wordsmiths. Story tellers. Visionaries.
“Hater fuel… that makes me go in. I love when somebody doubts you”
