6 million people in Tigray, Ethiopia have been under siege for over 22 months & now again are under attack by Eritrean forces. Peace is the only solution to save lives & livelihoods. We call on governments of Eritrea & Ethiopia to end the war, end the siege & work towards peace.
"Just a tiny fraction of what the Western world has so far spent in support of Ukraine's resistance against Russia's invasion could have stopped the war in the Horn of Africa, ending the suffering of hundreds of millions."

Meanwhile the rest of us should consider Peter Singer's 1971 essay on famine and affluence where he asks, are you obligated to save a drowning child even if it means you'll get your suit muddy? Because right now Tigrayans are drowning but the West doesn't wanna get its pants wet.
Just read the Report of the International Commission of Human Rights Experts on Ethiopia (ICHREE) to @UN_HRC
Long thread:
Given the political challenges and the financial and time constraints ICHREE faces, the Report is a refreshing mark of a truly independent investigation.

There is zero insulin stock in ayder for > a month now. Many patients are developing life threatening complications. These are the patients that managed to come to ayder. Many more who are far away who could not come are dying with out us knowing. Please Allow humanitarian access
We condemn attacks on civilians in #Tigray. As long as the fighting continues, innocent lives will be at risk. Ayder Referral Hospital has been short on medicines, equipment & staff to treat patients for months. We urge Ethiopian & Eritrean govts to work for peace & end the siege
Additional drone strike on the people gathered to help and see the victims. So far, 5 dead bodies are taken to mekele hospital, 10 wounded civilians came to ayder. One dead body came to Ayder. Among the victims a father was dead and his son is taken to surgery for laparatomy.
Eritrean forces keeps attacking Tigray on several fronts killing civilians and destroying houses. Firing heavy artilleries to Adigrat and the surrounding areas, the forces killed 5, injured 14 civilians, and destroyed houses and properties.

This is the consequence of the #humanitarian siege of #Tigray by #Ethiopia gov: child #vaccination rate dropped from pre-war 92% to current 8%. The blatant breach of int. humanitarian law by Ethiopia and its consequences on civillian population must be addressed! @gavi@NorwayUN
No food
No medicine
No telecommunications
No banking. All weaponised.
Bad enough that 6 million people of #Tigray have been sealed off from the world for 21 months & counting, but they are also victims of renewed aggression by Eritrean & Ethiopian forces. The siege & war must end
the vaccination of children in tigray: before the war:2011-92%, 2012-91.9%, after the war:2013-27%, 2014-8%. this year only 8% of children in tigray are vaccinated. Reports of 3 cases of acute flaccid paralysis(polio), and 26 cases of neonatal tetanus (1death) #forgotten_children
