BTS did the same to the South Korean Government in 2022. The Govt tried to dangle the military exemption like a bone infront of them to make them perform in political events and do their bidding for free. And after they got scammed at the Busan Expo, BTS had enough and ennounced their military enlistment unanimously one day which send the whole Govt in a frenzy. Had politicians contacting their company & even parents to change their minds.
Same way today they announced they won't be submitting ARIRANG for the 2027 Grammys. For years they thought they weren't enough, kept accepting the invite to perform and getting subbed by songs with barely any impact outside 3 states of USA. But Arirang is different, it is the most successful album of 2026 both in records & in critical acclaim. And yet the Grammys decided to introduce a whole new Asian Pop Category to box them than give them their deserved Album of the Year win. Would've probably nominated them to give false hope and bait them to perform again and increase their viewership. And then toss them that token asian award like a pity. But BTS has had enough. They now know their worth and exactly what they deserve. Just like they did in 2022. I'm so proud of them.
I don't think people fully understand the magnitude of this decision.
Some of the music industry's most respected producers, writers, engineers, and creatives worked on ARIRANG. A project built to the highest artistic standard. One producer even spoke publicly about hoping the album would receive Grammy recognition.
Then the Recording Academy introduced a category specifically for Asian pop.
And BTS chose not to submit.
Think about that. The biggest musical project of the year. One of the strongest commercial and artistic contenders. A project that could have competed across multiple major categories. It simply won't be in the race because the artists chose principle over prestige.
Moves like this don't happen often. When artists at BTS' level willingly walk away from the biggest stage in music, the conversation shifts because of what they refused to endorse.
All seven BTS members stand united in their decision not to submit to the Grammys this year. ✊
"We’ve decided not to submit our work for this year’s Grammy Awards. We hope music will be recognized and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language. Thank you, as always, to ARMY and everyone who supports us." 🔥
🐈 so… the reason i actually went live today is…the t-shirt i wore yesterday seemed to make some people uncomfortable, and i genuinely didn’t know. i thought it was just a regular t-shirt, but apparently it’s related to a movie that many people in Kazakhstan find very offensive. i heard it’s a black comedy that portrays them in a bad way. yes, the t-shirt shirt with holes in it. i didn’t know about it yesterday, but after seeing that some people were uncomfortable because of it, i’d like to apologize first. i threw the shirt away immediately. even if i didn’t know, if it made people uncomfortable, it’s still my mistake, so i’m sorry. i got rid of the shirt right away.
🐈 actually, i wanted to apologize first thing this morning, before the concert. but when i checked the time in Kazakhstan, it was still the middle of the night. so i thought it’d be better to go live when people there would actually be awake to see it. i think it’s around 8 or 9 a.m. there now. so as soon as i got back, i started this live. i’m sorry. i’m sincerely sorry, and i’ll reflect on this.
🐈 i’ll delete the TikTok too. also… i found out that the person who created the dance is also from Kazakhstan. the choreographer. i truly had no idea. i’m sorry. i really didn’t know. i’ll be more careful from now on.
🥺🫳🏻🫳🏻
JUNGWON I LOVE YOU AND IM PROUD OF YOU THANK YOU FOR BEING THE BEST LEADER AND IM SO SORRY
🐈Because we haven't spoken about it definitively until now, some people were saying things like we haven't properly addressed it, and they've been talking a lot about the number of members. Of course, while I can understand the hearts of those who loved ENHYPEN back then, now, yes, ENHYPEN is six members, everyone. Yes. ENHYPEN is six members.
Things like what you say at the concerts or the fan chants, I do understand that as well, because we haven't spoken about it clearly until now. I understand it, but seeing Engines fighting each other because of things like that doesn't look good. To be honest, it also disrupts the performances a lot. Yes, really, honestly.
Since I've spoken about it clearly today, I think those who truly like ENHYPEN and support us will know how to act moving forward. Yes.
Ah, I'll just say this completely clearly. Because if I speak vaguely again, it might not work. From now on, saying things like 'ENHYPEN is 7' is basically telling Engenes to fight among themselves. Yes. Fighting among our fans nobody wants that. The company doesn't want it, Engenes obviously don't want it, and above all, the six of us do not want it.
So in the future, I am going to consider those who stir up or promote such disputes as not being fans. For me, too... Actually, I turned on this live specifically because of this, to talk about this. I came here to speak on behalf of the members. Yes, the other five members share the exact same thought.
So I hope you won't do that from now on. I really mean it. Yes."
your side is more updated than us on every move jy makes. before we even tweet, you already have a reaction. when he went live, you were tuned in. every time he replies on weverse, you react. you interpret everything he does as a shade to hs when it’s not
so why is your side so updated on someone you don’t even support? tanga ka?
🐈⬛: “everything we achieved together, the mistakes we made together and the moments we overcame together. all of those are already a color placed in each member’s canvas of life that you’re supporting right now and it will never be erased”
such a beautiful statement 🥹
if you think about it like a normal person, what he clearly meant is that he treasures the people who contributed to the success of his career and stood beside him throughout the journey. the members who struggled with him, the fans who supported him, and the family who loved him unconditionally. obviously those people would hold a deeper place in his heart because success does not happen alone.
you’re purposely misinterpreting his words to create a narrative that he doesn’t care about his career, when in reality he’s acknowledging that his career would mean far less without the people who made the path worthwhile. trophies, titles, and achievements can exist, but without the hardships shared with the members, the constant support from fans, and the love from family, those things would feel empty. that was the whole point of what he said.
jay has always been one of the most passionate people when it comes to his work, his performances, his growth, and everything he does, so acting like he suddenly doesn’t care about his career just because he spoke about valuing people first makes no sense.
when jay repeatedly saying ‘im okay’ but at the same time worrying about the other members and thats what got me. like he is willing to brush it off for himself but not for them. that says so much about his heart and as someone who truly care beyond himself :(
this situation has always been what YOU think, what YOU want to happen. you didn’t believe what the members or heeseung said. you don’t respect them and their spaces. YOU’RE SELFISH. if you can’t accept the situation for what it is now, leave the fucking fandom.
YOU GUYS GENUINELY NEED TO STOP THIS MADNESS
🐈⬛ some of you guys dont care abt what the situation’s going on like right? some of you just keep saying 6 or 7. enhypen is what, enhypen is what. im okay, i actually dont care (abt the comments). enhypen is enhypen… i always try to ignore that so i’m okay but dont do that to other member’s birthday. im okay but please dont do that to others okay?… what if other members would feel depressed in this situation? im really scared for that so hopefully i dont want that happening in the future…
