I've been moving freight since 2013 — quotes by phone, booking by email. Now our customers just tell our AI what they need to ship. Here's 90 seconds of it working.
Depends on the project. For everything we’ve wanted to build, like voice or API stuff, Claude just figured it out with us. Grok has improved and I still use it for general lookups, but a few months back it was having trouble totaling spreadsheet columns reliably. That’s what made us hesitant to trust it for dev work.
Tried using Grok and Claude Desktop to read invoice PDFs from Gmail and enter them into our system. Both did it well. But the token usage was so high that both cut me off before I could finish a real workload. AI agents are ready for automation via API. They are not yet ready to fully replace a desk job in real time.
I love meeting people and learning about their business. Today I met someone with an incredible pivot story. His rug business slowed down as the housing and home buying market shifted, so he saw an opportunity and turned his rug warehouse into a film and photo production studio instead. Now @_studios60 has 12 stages across 65,000 sqft in LA and has hosted shoots for artists like Drake and Metro Boomin. Even with production increasingly moving out of LA, he’s still staying super busy. From rugs to Hollywood, only in LA.

Ceva Logistics customers just found out their data was exposed in a breach. If you run e-commerce or B2C fulfillment, vet who’s touching your customer data, not just who quotes the lowest rate. Freight is a data business now, not just a trucks business.
Companies that rely on Ceva Logistics for shipping their physical goods to customers say their personal data was taken during a recent cyberattack.

Spent the weekend in Oxnard with the family, always good to get away and see something different.
I love meeting people and learning about their business. Met a guy named Joe by the pool who fixes iPods for a living, says he's better at it than anyone else, and I believe him.
Asked if he'd always been a tinkerer. Always, he said. He tells me he studied accounting in college. I asked why not mechanical engineering if he loved taking things apart so much. His parents made him.
Great story. Guy spends years doing what he was told, ends up building a whole business around the thing he actually loved the entire time. Now he fixes iPods, adds Bluetooth, upgrades the memory, brings dead ones back from the grave. I thought that market died a decade ago and figured Bill Maher going on about his iPod was a guy being stubborn. Turns out he's onto something, there's real demand out there.
The businesses everyone assumes don't have a market anymore are sometimes the ones quietly doing just fine. Stereotypical boring business that makes money.

If you're paying for a platform, ask what job it's actually doing for you.
Usually it's one or two things. If you can build those directly (Stripe to QBO, in my case), you don't need the platform, you need the connection.
AI made that rebuild possible in an afternoon, not a dev sprint. More of these coming.
Method connected to QuickBooks fine, that wasn't the issue.
The issue was customers had to leave our site and go to some external page to pay. Felt clunky, didn't feel like ours.
So I built Stripe right into our website instead. Customers pay by ACH or credit card on our site, and it automatically marks the invoice paid in QuickBooks. No redirect, no separate platform.
Saving the subscription cost is honestly the boring part.
The real win is I understand my own payment flow now instead of trusting a black box. Something breaks, I know exactly where to look.
Worth more than the money.
AI has let me cancel several subscriptions I've had for a while now, some from companies that have been around forever.
Wild what a little help from AI can replace.
First one: Method CRM. It does a lot, full CRM, automation, workflows. But the only piece I actually needed was payments syncing to QuickBooks. Here's what replaced that one piece 🧵
