A semen analysis is not a pass/fail test.

A value within or above a certain range doesn’t guarantee pregnancy. A value outside it doesn’t diagnose infertility.

The full report, your health history, and sometimes repeat testing provide the context.

Volume × concentration × motility = total motile count (TMC).

In plain English: TMC is an estimate of how many moving sperm are present across the entire sample.

While TMC combines three measurements into one useful number, it still belongs in the context of the full report.

Morphology = how many sperm meet the lab’s criteria for how a sperm should be shaped.

A low-looking morphology percentage can be alarming, but it’s just one metric and does not diagnose infertility. Read it alongside the rest of a full semen analysis report.

[Fellow @fellow]

Count asks: How many sperm are in the sample?
Motility asks: What percentage are moving?

Both describe the sample, but neither tells the whole story. A full semen analysis reads them alongside volume, concentration, total motile count, and morphology.

Faster semen analysis. Faster time to treatment. Fellow means patients get answers earlier and can begin treatment sooner, and this week we're taking it on the road.

Sperm concentration and total count are related—but they’re not the same.

Concentration = sperm per milliliter of semen.
Total count = sperm across the entire sample.

Because total count uses both concentration and volume, either number alone is incomplete.

Fertility testing should not fall on one partner.

A semen analysis may be worth discussing:
• During a fertility evaluation
• When a clinician recommends it
• After a vasectomy reversal
• For a reproductive-health baseline

Ask your clinician about timing.

Skip the clinic collection room—not the lab analysis.

With Fellow you collect at home, return your sample (overnight return shipping is included), and receive a secure report after analysis in our CLIA-certified lab.

Which semen analysis metric sounds the most confusing to you?

1. Count vs. concentration
2. Motility
3. Morphology
4. What to do after the results

Reply with a number—or the question you wish someone would answer plainly.

[Fellow @fellow]

A full semen analysis is more than a sperm count.

It measures:
• Semen volume
• Sperm concentration
• Total sperm count
• Motility and progressive motility
• Total motile count
• Morphology

Each metric answers a different question. Read them together, not one at a time.

[Fellow @fellow]

A semen analysis is not a fertility verdict.

It’s a snapshot of several semen parameters at one point in time. Taken together—and with your health history—the results can help you and a clinician decide what comes next.

More context. Less guessing.

Really happy to be working with Jamie Murray, Dr. Etai Goldenberg, and Dr. Majdee Islam at Helios Specialty Healthcare, and we’re grateful for the shout out.

Testing for vasectomy success is crucial, and making it easier gets more men to follow through.
