“If you put red ants & black ants in a glass jar, nothing happens. But if the jar is shaken, the two sets of ants will fight each other. But the real enemy is the person who shook the jar. The same is true in society. Before we fight each other, we must ask: Who shook the jar?”
@lakesauctioneer I used to hate the term mitigation for land used to compensate for industrial development because it was replacing that land with agricultural land
Really good view of some of our birch natural regen (about 50 acres in total in this block) very close to the boundary with my neighbour. You can actually see the boundary line quite clearly. In the @cairngormsnews
@AlexHeffron20 @herdyshepherd1 In the past if you hadn't farmed it in a efficient and tidy state you'd have been charged dilapidations at end of tenancy .Now they're wanting to delapidate their land !
His comments ring true across #cumbria Every week more farm land taken out of production to be tree planted, farms tenanted for generations taken back in hand, hefted sheep removed from the fells forever.
We're losing a rural economy and its communities. Desperately sad. Why?
