๐จ๐ Lamine Yamal, on Mbappeโs Ballon dโOr words: โI don't think I need that. I won't try to convince you that I'm the one who deserves the award, as everyone has the right to see things the way they wantโ ๐๐
โI'm proud of the season I delivered with my team and with the national team. We were crowned world champions, and we won the league again, and I couldn't ask for more than thatโ ๐

๐จ๐ Lamine Yamal: โI donโt think I need to campaign for the Ballon D'Or. Everyone is entitled to think whatever they wantโ.
โIโm not here to campaign, and Iโm not going to beg for anything. Thatโs your job. Itโs not on meโ.
Word has just come down that St. Paulโs Cathedral in Londonโthe second most important church in the Anglican worldโhas imitated Canterbury Cathedral in permitting โraves,โ nightclub-like entertainments, to take place in its confines.
The usual reasons for acquiescing to this have been trotted out: reaching out to the young, trying to get with the times, etc. But this development simply shows that the leadership of the Church of England has lost any sense of the crucial distinction between the sacred and the secular.
Across the centuries and across the cultures, our ancestors seem to have intuitively grasped the importance of this demarcation. Whereas the secular is the arena of ordinary experience and activity, the sacred is another realm, a different dimension.
Accordingly, in the properly sacred space, one is lifted out of the conventional and introduced into the numinous. This is why Christian cathedrals are filled with images of the saints and angels and why their interiors are meant first to disorient us and then to reorient us toward the divine.
It is also why, in the initiation rituals of primal peoples, a young person is purposely ripped out of the ordinary and introduced into the mythic and mystic dimension. And it is why, throughout the Bible, sacred spaces are carefully set apart from common spaces.
The contemporary West is, quite literally, the first culture in human history that is in danger of collapsing the sacred into the secular, or better, losing any sense of the difference between the two.
This is doing enormous damage, especially to young people, whose lives have been flattened into a preoccupation with money, worldly success, and material things.
The Church indeed should go out into the secular space to find those who have wandered away from God, but it should then lead those wanderers back to the holy.
Having โravesโ in the nave of one of the most sacred spaces in the Christian world is, Iโm sad to say, another sign of our pitiful surrender to ideological secularism.
The argument that Kanye West could realistically only do a Verzuz against Drake, JAY-Z, or Kendrick Lamar comes down to the rare tier of global impact, sheer volume of diamond and multi-platinum hits, and cultural weight required to stand across from him without getting completely washed.
A breakdown of why those three specifically fit the bill highlights the unique parameters of a Kanye catalog clash:
JAY-Z: This is the ultimate "master vs. protรฉgรฉ" legacy match. JAY-Z carries the historical NYC dominance, an endless run of 90s/2000s street anthems, and corporate-rap milestones. Meanwhile, Kanye built a massive chunk of Hov's definitive sound (producing classic tracks on The Blueprint) before launching a historic solo run that arguably eclipsed the traditional rap blueprint. The sheer generational tension and shared history make it the ultimate heavyweight prestige boutโeven if Kanye himself has noted reverence makes it unlikely.
Drake: Commercially, this is the biggest possible blockbuster. Both artists share a massive crossover appeal that bridge drillpop R&B + global pop culture. While Kanye brings visionary production shifts and a legendary 2000sโ2010s run (The College Dropout through My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy), Drake brings a historic, unbroken string of streaming dominance and radio-conquering mega-hits from the 2010s and 2020s. Itโs a clash of two commercial behemoths who defined modern streaming metrics.
Kendrick Lamar: Representing the pinnacle of contemporary lyricism, cultural prestige, and critical acclaim, Kendrick matches Kanye in artistic ambition and event-level releases. While Kanye leans heavily on stadium-sized production, genre-bending eras, and universal pop-culture disruption, Kendrick brings undeniable modern anthems, Pulitzer-level weight, and the momentum of the current generation's undisputed king.
Anyone else in hip-hop either lacks the sheer depth of pop-culture-shattering records or the global footprint required to match 20+ years of Kanye's cultural resets.
There is a serious decline in the use of the Igbo language, especially among Millennials and Gen Z.
A language dies when its children stop speaking it.
If we donโt act urgently, we risk raising generations of Igbo children who cannot speak Igbo and eventually pushing the language towards extinction.
We need to make Igbo exciting again.
I remember growing up with Akแปฅkแป Ifo, Mbe stories, proverbs, songs and folklore. They didnโt just teach us the language; they taught us who we were.
We must bring that experience back using technology, animation, games, music and storytelling.
We cannot allow that to happen to Igbo.
What would you suggest we do?

๐ฉต๐ค Full statement by Lionel Messi: โI wrote these words on July 21, two days after the finalโฆ today, after what happened with my dad, Iโm even more convinced of this decision than beforeโ.
โAfter all this time since the final, and after thinking about it a lot, I want to tell everyone that Iโm retiring from the national team.
"It was a decision that hurt and still hurts deep inside, but I understand that this is the right moment.
"I swear I always gave everything, not only in these last few years when we won everything, but before that too. I always fought and gave everything for this shirt, to bring you happiness and make you feel proud to be Argentine through football.
"There isnโt much time left, and different chapters are coming to an end. This is one that hurts me a lot. I love, I loved, and I will always love being part of the national team. I gave everything I had, and I donโt have anything more to give.
"Also, there are great young players coming through who deserve to be here.
"Thank you for all the love during these 20 years. Iโm going to miss hearing you from the inside. Now Iโll be one of you, always supporting from the outside, in the good times and even more in the bad ones.
"Thank you to my family for always being there and for being with me throughout this beautiful but difficult journey. Thank you to every coach, teammate and director I had the chance to share it with. I take with me unforgettable memories and moments.
"I leave with peace and pride, knowing that together with my teammates we gave you moments we once dreamed of. It was crazy to experience all of this with you. I love you!
"Thank you God for making me Argentine.
"Vamos Argentina!
