The year you are tempted to write off as wasted is one of the most quietly valuable years you will ever be handed.

You have time, a little structure, a stipend that removes the sharpest edge of the pressure, and a legitimate reason to be in rooms you would not normally enter. That exact combination almost never comes again once real life starts.

Most people spend the year counting months. A few use it to learn a hard skill, start a small thing, or attach themselves to someone worth learning from.

Do not just serve the year. Use it.
