Woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth. #ApostolicJourney#Cameroon https://t.co/bKteFZ3iWE
At a public hospital in Beirut, Ahmad is among hundreds of injured children. Many others have been killed.
On April 8, strikes hit across Lebanon within minutes, killing and injuring children across the country.

Earthset.
The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.
One last look at Earth before we reach the Moon.
This view of the Earth was captured on April 5, the fourth day of the Artemis II mission, from inside the Orion spacecraft. The four astronauts will reach their closest approach of the Moon tomorrow, April 6.
A six-year-old Yevheniia has died in hospital after being seriously wounded in a Russian attack, during which her older sister tried to shield her with her own body. Doctors fought to save the child’s life, but her injuries proved fatal.
The girl was wounded on March 28 when Russian forces shelled a residential home in the Shostka district of the Sumy region. Her 20-year-old sister, Dasha Serhiienko, was killed in the strike. The girls’ parents were also injured.
Russia continues to bring suffering to Ukrainian families, killing children who should have had a future. The international community must stop Russia’s terror and ensure full accountability for every life taken.

“Let your light shine.”
Families displaced by Israeli air strikes in southern Lebanon have found shelter at the Saints Peter and Paul Monastery in the village of Qattine.

I’m going into 2026 with less ambition towards new resolutions and more focus and intention on stewarding what God has already placed in my hands. This is the way of the Kingdom. We all have gardens to keep and work.
I came across this medieval Christ figure today in a lonely churchyard overlooking the sea. Perhaps the most poignant crucifixion I’ve ever seen: Christ’s body salt-bitten and wind-ravaged; the weather sculpting its own lament.
