“God never hurries. There are no deadlines against which he must work. Only to know this is to quiet our spirits and relax our nerves.”
― A.W. Tozer, The Pursuit of God: The Human Thirst for the Divine
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

THE THRONE ABOVE THE FIRMAMENT
Ezekiel 1:22–26 — The literal throne of God over a physical firmament, not a poetic vision.
If there is one thing modern Christianity cannot stand, it is a literal Bible. The moment God shows a man what is actually up there, the scholars run for their commentaries, the seminaries run for their metaphors, and the “original Greek” crowd starts inventing an invisible universe where nothing is solid, nothing is structured, nothing is physical, and nothing is where the King James Bible says it is. So when Ezekiel lifts his eyes and sees a literal expanse made of something that looks like “the colour of the terrible crystal” (v. 22), the commentators panic. They don’t dare take it literally. They’ve seen too many NASA photos. They’ve worshiped too long at the altar of Galileo, Sagan, and Neil deGrasse Tyson. They refuse to accept that *above your head is not endless space — but a barrier. A hard, crystalline, God-made division between the creation and the Creator.
And above it?
Not a metaphor. Not a cloud. Not “God in our hearts.”
A throne. A real one. With Someone sitting on it.
That’s the problem. If the Book is right, then somebody is in charge. Somebody is above creation, not inside creation. Somebody is outside the universe looking in — and He didn’t get there by evolving out of pond scum or exploding out of a cosmic accident. He sits, He rules, and He observes. That fact alone is enough to send every pope, professor, atheist, deist, and allegorizing Baptist into convulsions.
The Bible believer has no such problem. We don’t rewrite Scripture to protect science — we rewrite science to match Scripture. And Scripture says what it means.
A firmament — flat, solid, crystalline, stretched out.
Above it — water.
Above the water — a throne.
On the throne — a Man.
That’s not poetry. That’s geography — heavenly geography.
Let’s walk it through.
1. THE FIRMAMENT IS A HARD SURFACE, NOT “OPEN SKY”
Verse 22: “And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.”
That is not atmosphere. That is not “symbolic purity.” That is not “the expanse of inner consciousness.” That is a structure, described the same way Moses described it in Exodus 24:10 — “a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.”
That’s not air. That’s flooring.
Job 37:18 nukes the scholars completely:
“Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?”
You can bend a metaphor, but you can’t bend a mirror.
The Bible never once says the firmament is gas or void. It is solid, stretched, beaten out, and holding back water (Gen. 1:6–7). The same waters are still there in Psalm 148:4 — proving the firmament didn’t “dissolve” when primitive man got smarter. It didn’t melt when Copernicus got a telescope. It didn’t evaporate because Carl Sagan had a high IQ. The Bible didn’t adjust itself to NASA. NASA adjusted reality to avoid the Bible.
2. THE SCHOLARS CAN’T TAKE IT, SO THEY SPIRITUALIZE IT
Every commentary that hates the King James will say the same thing: “This is a vision, not literal. The prophet is describing spiritual truths in symbolic imagery.” Meaning: “We can ignore all the details that embarrass scientific theory.”
When Ezekiel says “firmament,” they say “symbol of God’s transcendence.”
When he says “crystal,” they say “clarity of divine nature.”
When he says “throne,” they say “God’s authority in the believer’s heart.”
When he sees a Man on the throne, they say “anthropomorphic language.”
You know what that is? That’s educated unbelief. That’s a man so overstuffed with degrees that he can’t read a 5th-grade English sentence without correcting it. Give him a literal verse and he’ll turn it into gas. Give him a real throne and he’ll turn it into a literary device. Give him a real God and he’ll turn Him into a floating idea.
Christianity brainwashed this woman so bad that she …
… quit drugs, quit drinking, stopped self-harming, & stopped having suicidal thoughts.
It’s a cult that tricks you into healing & purpose! 🚨🚨🚨
