Sony is now being sued in five countries over claims that it has too much control over digital game sales on PlayStation.

The lawsuits, filed in the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Portugal, and Mexico, argue that because Sony is the only company allowed to sell digital PlayStation games through the PlayStation Store, it can keep prices higher and give players fewer choices.

Mexican federal deputy Iraís Reyes and senator Luis Donaldo Colosio have filed an antitrust complaint against Sony over its decision to stop producing physical PlayStation games starting in 2028.

“Starting in 2028, PlayStation will stop producing physical games. Its digital store becomes the only channel in Mexico: the price Sony decides, the conditions Sony imposes, without being able to resell, lend or exchange.”

“And what you buy digitally isn’t yours, it’s a license that can be taken away. It already happened in Europe in 2022, it’s happening with more than 500 movies, and it’s going to happen with the PS3 and PS Vita stores.”

I was going to wait and see if more employees posted about being laid off, but since people have started talking about this: It seems that Microsoft waited until after Campaign Evolved released to start laying off Halo Studios employees. There’s no confirmation for mass layoffs, these are the only employees who’ve posted about it. I will provide updates if information about this situation is shared. #Halo
