🚨 This isn’t just a bad day on the job — it’s a masterclass in what NOT to do. 🚨
I come from two generations of pipefitters and plumbers. The second I saw this clip, the red flags started flying.
You step into a customer’s home (or apartment) for the first time? Rule number one: flashlight in hand, find the shut-off valve immediately. Period.
But this is an apartment building. That changes everything. You don’t just hunt for the unit shut-off — you head straight to the curb. You locate the petcock (the main building shut-off), pop the cover, and have your curb key ready in position before you even touch a wrench. Just in case.
In this clip? The guy playing plumber doesn’t speak English. 🚩
He almost certainly has zero clue what a curb key is or where to find the building shut-off.
Instead of calling the fire department the second things went sideways (they carry curb keys and show up fast), he’s stuck in the middle of a full-blown flood.
Water damage doesn’t wait. It spreads by the minute — through ceilings, into lower units, destroying floors, walls, and belongings. From the dialogue and chaos, this clearly isn’t a ground-floor apartment. That means multiple families displaced, not just one.
One reckless or unqualified call like this can bankrupt a company overnight. Insurance companies don’t chase invoices forever when negligence is this obvious.
This is exactly why real pros always have a plan for the main shut-off, why language and basic job knowledge matter, and why you don’t send someone in over their head without backup.
The damage in this clip is already rolling. The real question is how bad it gets before it stops — and who ends up paying for it.
Last but certainly not least, the water pressure in this apartment for exceeds the 40 LBS it should be set at, if there’s no pressure regulator in this system it certainly needs one.

Belgium winger Jeremy Doku has been criticised for saying that he intends to leave his nation’s World Cup squad to attend the birth of his first child.
Earlier this week, the Manchester City player told reporters that his wife Shireen is due to give birth during the second week of July — which would coincide with the tournament’s quarter-final stage — and he would return home for it should Belgium be in the tournament.
