We’re excited to announce the opening of a new sensory classroom at @Sshorefinearts, made possible by a generous $1.3 million donation from Special Children’s Charities, with support from @mattoshea19.

This donation advances our district’s efforts to enhance educational environments and improve the daily learning experiences of students with disabilities, funding sensory rooms in 22 of our schools. These therapeutic spaces promote students’ well-being by offering relief during moments of overstimulation or feelings of being overwhelmed, supported by trained clinicians.

Fusing our school menus with community flavors, chefs from Josephine's Southern Cooking kicked off our District's Chef Council Residency Program at Evers ES, serving delicious fish tacos crafted from a recipe by culinary icon and entrepreneur Josephine "Mother" Wade in collaboration with our District's @Aramark Student Nutrition culinary team!

@PedroCPSCEO & Chief Operating Officer Charles Mayfield joined students as they voted on whether this tasty entrée deserves a permanent spot on the menu.

Spoiler alert: it looks like this dish is a new school favorite! 🌮
