QuipSwap — the new product just announced by @quipnetwork — has definitely caught my attention.
After looking into how QuipSwap works, I want to discuss one important topic: liquidity.
QuipSwap takes a bridgeless, P2P approach, meaning it doesn’t rely on wrapped tokens or massive liquidity pools like traditional DEX models.
That sounds very interesting.
But P2P comes with its own challenge: counterparties.
If I want to swap SOL → ETH, there needs to be someone willing to swap ETH → SOL at a reasonable price.
That makes network effects extremely important.
Large ecosystems like Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin, BNB Chain, Base and Arbitrum already have large user bases, significant assets and high trading activity. That could provide a strong environment for P2P liquidity to grow.
Smaller chains can still participate, but they may need a strong network of counterparties, market makers or liquidity providers.
I think this is something anyone looking into QuipSwap can see, and I’m sure @quipnetwork sees it too.
So what I’m interested in now isn’t whether this challenge exists.
I want to see what solution @quipnetwork brings to the table.
Will it actually stand out?
Will it address real user needs?
And most importantly, will it be practical enough for users to actually use on a regular basis?
QuipSwap is just getting started.
Let’s wait and see what @quipnetwork brings next. 👀
