Ted. Look at our deficit. Look at how much we pay in interest every minute of every day. Look what that is doing to interest rates.
It’s Econ 101, you either have to raise revenue significantly, cut spending, significantly. Or both.
Talarico committed to support the Break Up Big Medicine Bill. That was a pre requisite for my doing the event with him this week.
If this Hawley/ Warren bill passes, we would reduce the deficit. We would cut costs for patients. Drug pricing would drop like a rock.
Yet not a word from you in support Ted. Why ?
A true capitalist would understand how these economics work. They wouldn’t ignore the fact that our debt levels pull money away from business. And consumers.
If you truly want to do what is best for business, and the economy, we are going to have to raise taxes and cut spending.
The best place to cut spending is by removing the HealthCare middlemen that are Too Big To Care, which is exactly what the Break Up Big Medicine Bill does
You ready to whip up support among republicans ? Or do you prefer people dying because they can’t afford care , and the economy continuing to slow down because we are having to print money to financial engineer our debt obligations.
What say you Ted ?
Darline Graham: Government run health care…. bad idea after bad idea. Annie Andrews backs it all. I have a different background. My parents worked long, hard hours. If that were sick, they had to get up and go to work. My mother passed away when I was 11 and my father just over a year later.
@cmclymer Sure, but they also call every Democrat a socialist/communist crazy person. They think some of the most centrist Democrats are trying to usher in Communism. So Democrats are pushing away part of the coalition in hopes they don't label us that way and they do anyway.
If Bari Weiss does anything to screw up @CBSSunday we riot….meet Roman Butzlaff from Concord, N.C….this is the America I want….amazing segment and story
The reasoning here from @Burgin4Senate makes good sense: nonprofit hospitals are exempt from paying many taxes, which makes North Carolinians de facto shareholders, so NCians should get a say over executive pay.
The big question: doesn't that reasoning apply equally to @DukeEnergy?
Their corporation is for-profit, but gifted a highly lucrative legal monopoly by those same people of North Carolina. In a very similar sense, NCians are very much shareholders in Duke Energy. Should they not get to set limits on executive pay? After all, our dollars pay for it.
I feel strongly about this: journalists have an ethical responsibility to call these election lies what they are. We just stop hiding behind the euphemistic “without proof.” Or democracy is fragile and under assault. Patrician journalistic niceties serve no one is a moment of crisis, not even journalism. We are called to reveal and convey truth. It starts with every interaction. It starts in the moment. It starts to their faces. It feels good to be free to do what I think is right.
It's been a long week, but after much prayer, I've decided to endorse Ken Paxton from the pulpit this Sunday. Is he a criminal, a liar and a cheat? Yes, but he has found Jesus. Meanwhile, Talarico is a bit too fond of vegetables for my liking🙏🇺🇸
We're so owned that Ted Cruz spent an extra 35 cents per gallon at Chevron… when he could have gone to Costco 2 blocks away (P.S. that’s on top of the $1.35 more he’s spending thanks to Trump’s Iran War gas premium!)
In the last few days, both Ted Cruz and Fox News have accidentally proven our point — CHEVRON is ripping people off!

Ofelia Torres has died at 16, of cancer. As she was dying the Chicago teen fought for her father's release from immigration detention. 3 days before she died, an immigration judge ruled that her father was conditionally entitled to receive cancellation of removal, which could provide a pathway to a green card.
This was her message to ICE: “To the ICE agents who smashed my dad's window, to the ICE agent who pointed a gun at my dad, I'm not mad at you ... I just want you to know that that was not the right thing to do.”
RIP Ofelia Torres
Christian Nationalism looks like seeing Jesus hanging on the cross and saying, "he should have just obeyed the law."
Christian Nationalism looks like the Samaritan leaning over to the man beaten on the side of the road and saying, "before I pay for your treatment and shelter, tell me, are you here legally?"
Christian Nationalism looks like Jesus saying to his disciples before feeding the 5,000, "go make sure everyone here has a job and isn't just looking for a handout."
Christian Nationalism looks like using the Bible to seek first the power of the empire rather than the self sacrificial love of Jesus.
Christian nationalism looks like worshiping power rather than loving God and our neighbors.
Christian nationalism looks nothing like the real Jesus.

You can fool some people sometimes
But you can't fool all the people all the time
So now we see the light (what you gonna do?)
We going to stand up for our right (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Get up, stand up (in the morning, don't give it up)
Stand up for your right (stand up right now)
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight (don't give it up, don't give it up)
Get up, stand up (get up, stand up)
Stand up for your right (get up, stand up)
Get up, stand up
Don't give up the fight (get up, stand up)

@RepLuna Misleading framing. People aren’t “siding with criminals.” They’re opposing a government picking which laws it follows, especially when U.S. citizens are also detained, mistreated, or killed. Supporting ICE officers and due process isn’t contradictory, it’s constitutional.
If you’re Jewish and you’re spending a second worrying about the left’s criticism of Israel when this is today’s far right, which the GOP feels is too important a part of their coalition to alienate (JD Vance has literally said that), well, I don’t know what to say to you.
