WHAT IS REALLY BEHIND THE WORLD’S HATRED OF THE JEWS?
What kind of hatred survives Pharaoh, Persia, Rome, the Crusades, pogroms, Auschwitz and still rises again?
Different centuries.
Different nations.
Different accusations.
The same people targeted again and again.
In Egypt, Pharaoh ordered the Hebrew sons killed.
In Persia, Haman sought the destruction of the Jewish people.
Rome destroyed Jerusalem and scattered Jews across the nations.
Then the accusations changed.
But the hatred remained.
THE LIE CAME BEFORE THE VIOLENCE
During the Middle Ages, Jews were falsely accused of murdering Christian children and using their blood for religious rituals.
It became known as the blood libel.
A complete fabrication.
Yet the lie spread for centuries and repeatedly helped provoke persecution and mob violence.
Then came the Black Death.
As plague devastated Europe, Jews were falsely accused of poisoning wells and causing the catastrophe.
Once again:
Find a crisis.
Find a scapegoat.
Spread the lie.
Release the mob.
Jewish communities were attacked across Europe.
The Crusades brought another wave of slaughter.
England expelled its Jewish population in 1290.
Spain expelled practicing Jews in 1492.
And eventually another word entered the history of Jewish suffering:
POGROM
A pogrom was a violent attack directed specifically against a Jewish community, often carried out by mobs and sometimes encouraged or tolerated by authorities.
One infamous example came in Kishinev in 1903.
After antisemitic accusations spread following the murder of a Christian boy, violence erupted.
For three days, Jewish homes and businesses were looted and destroyed.
Nearly 50 Jews were killed and hundreds wounded.
The accusation changed.
The hatred remained.
Religious prejudice became racial pseudoscience.
Old myths became modern conspiracy theories.
Then Nazi Germany took centuries of antisemitic hatred and turned it into state policy.
Rights disappeared.
Property disappeared.
Freedom disappeared.
Then people disappeared.
Six million Jewish people were murdered in the Holocaust.
Surely after Auschwitz the world would understand where antisemitism leads.
Yet antisemitism survived Auschwitz.
AND IT IS RISING AGAIN
The ADL recorded 6,274 antisemitic incidents in the United States in 2025.
That is about 17 every day.
Although lower than the extraordinary 2024 peak, 2025 was still the third-highest year recorded since tracking began in 1979, and physical assaults reached a record high.
FBI data recorded 1,528 single-bias anti-Jewish hate-crime incidents in 2025, approximately 63 percent of reported religion-based hate-crime incidents.
Different century.
Different vocabulary.
Ancient hatred.
But Scripture tells us something history alone cannot.
HISTORY SHOWS THE HATRED.
REVELATION SHOWS WHAT HISTORY CANNOT SEE.
There is a spiritual conflict running through the biblical story.
Why Israel?
Because God chose Abraham.
“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you.”
Genesis 12:3
Because Israel was entrusted with God’s Word.
“To them were committed the oracles of God.”
Romans 3:2
Because through Israel came the Messiah.
“From whom, according to the flesh, Christ came.”
Romans 9:5
And because God made covenant promises to Israel that He intends to keep.
Revelation 12 pulls back the curtain.
There is a woman. Israel.
There is a Child destined to rule the nations.
And there is a dragon waiting to destroy Him.
The Child is the Messiah.
The dragon is Satan.
And when the dragon cannot destroy the Child, his fury turns against the woman.
Suddenly the pattern becomes impossible to miss.
Pharaoh tried to destroy Israel’s sons.
Haman tried to destroy the Jewish people.
Herod tried to destroy the Jewish Messiah.
And Revelation reveals the spiritual enemy behind the war against God’s redemptive purposes.
That does not mean every disagreement with Israel is antisemitism.
Israel’s own prophets rebuked Israel fiercely.
Governments can be criticized.
Policies can be challenged.
Wrongdoing can be condemned.
But hatred of Jews because they are Jews is entirely different.
And Gentile believers were given a warning that should thunder through the Church:
“Do not boast against the branches.”
Romans 11:18
Why?
Israel remains:
“Beloved for the sake of the fathers.”
Romans 11:28
And then Paul gives the reason:
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”
Romans 11:29
Antisemitism keeps changing its mask.
Blood libel.
Well poisoning.
Racial theories.
World conspiracy.
Political scapegoating.
The accusation changes.
The hatred remains.
But there is another pattern running through history.
Egyptian dynasties disappeared.
Babylon fell.
Persia changed.
Rome fell.
The Nazi Reich collapsed.
Yet the Jewish people remain.
Scattered.
Persecuted.
Hunted.
Nearly annihilated.
Yet still here.
The enemy has repeatedly attempted to erase the people connected with God’s promises.
But Satan cannot cancel a covenant made by YHWH.
History has recorded thousands of years of antisemitism.
Scripture tells us how the story ends.
“For I am YHWH, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.”
Malachi 3:6
Antisemitism is ancient.
But God’s faithfulness is older.
A WARNING TO THOSE WHO RAGE AGAINST ZION
Before you declare Zion rejected, make sure you are not declaring God unfaithful.
Listen to the LORD:
“I am exceedingly jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion.”
Zechariah 1:14
“I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy.”
Zechariah 8:2
Those are covenant words.
God judged Israel.
God scattered Israel.
God disciplined Israel severely.
But the same prophets who announced the judgment also announced the restoration.
“I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land.”
Ezekiel 36:24
Scattered in judgment.
Preserved among the nations.
Regathered to the land.
Brought to repentance.
Defended by the LORD.
Ruled by Messiah.
Jeremiah says Israel will cease being a nation before God only when the fixed order of the sun, moon, and stars ceases.
Jeremiah 31:35–37.
Then Paul asks the question directly:
“Has God rejected his people?”
“By no means!”
Romans 11:1
Why?
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”
Romans 11:29
Believing these promises does not require defending every action of a modern Israeli government.
No earthly government is beyond criticism.
The issue is much larger:
Has God revoked His promises concerning Israel, Jerusalem, and Zion?
Scripture says no.
Consider something remarkable.
Zion is mentioned more than 150 times in the Old Testament alone, and its significance continues into the New Testament.
God repeatedly speaks of Zion.
He chooses Zion.
He loves Zion.
He promises to return to Zion.
He places His King in Zion.
He promises to defend Zion.
Yet somehow we are told that Zion eventually became irrelevant to the biblical story.
Charles Spurgeon saw the problem more than a century ago:
“I think we do not attach sufficient importance to the restoration of the Jews. We do not think enough of it.”
Spurgeon was even more direct elsewhere when preaching Ezekiel 37. He argued that the prophet was speaking about Israel itself, not merely giving us a picture of the Church, and affirmed a future restoration of the Jewish people to their land.
And Zechariah tells us where history is headed.
“I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples.”
Zechariah 12:3
The nations gather against Jerusalem.
Then the LORD intervenes.
“Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations.”
Zechariah 14:3
His feet stand on the Mount of Olives.
The mountain splits.
Jerusalem is delivered.
And then comes the declaration:
“The LORD will be king over all the earth.”
Zechariah 14:9
Psalm 2 had already announced it.
The nations rage.
The rulers gather against the LORD and His Anointed.
And God answers:
“I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.”
Psalm 2:6
Joel adds:
“The LORD roars from Zion and utters his voice from Jerusalem.”
“The LORD is a refuge to his people, a stronghold to the people of Israel.”
Joel 3:16
So be careful before mocking Zion.
Be careful before celebrating Israel’s destruction.
Be careful before constructing a theology in which the Jewish people must disappear from God’s prophetic purposes.
The nations may rage.
Jerusalem may tremble.
Israel may stumble.
But God has not forgotten.
His calling is irrevocable.
His covenant purposes remain.
And Scripture gives the final word:
Psalm 129:5
“May all who hate Zion be put to shame and turned backward!”
🔊 CHURCH: The Feast of Trumpets begins TOMORROW, FRIDAY 9/11–SUNDAY 9/13—and LOOK at the convergence surrounding it this year! Israel at the center. The nations focused on dividing the land. Iran and its bow bending, ready to break! War expanding. Earthquakes. Intense volcanic activity. Signs in the heavens. And all of it converging as the appointed time of the TRUMPET arrives this year on a Sabbath—A DAY OF REST! ALL THE SIGNS ARE NOT QUIETING DOWN—THEY ARE INTENSIFYING! KEEP LOOKING UP!!!
🎺QUICKLY FIRST — WHAT IS THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS?
The Feast of Trumpets—Yom Teruahin the Bible—is one of the LORD's seven appointed feasts. It begins on 1 Tishrei, the first day of the seventh month, and God commanded it to be a day of rest, holy assembly, and trumpet blasts:
📖“In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.” Lev 23:24
👉🏼The trumpet was used in Scripture to call God's people together, announce movement of the camps, sound an alarm, and proclaim important occasions.
And this year is extra special!
🎺Trumpets begins this Friday at sunset September 11, 2026, and 1 Tishrei falls on a Sabbath—God's day of REST. That isn't extremely rare, but the fact that the appointed time of the trumpet falls on the day of rest immediately makes me think of this verse, Isaiah 26:20:
But look at what comes BEFORE:
📖 “Your dead shall live... Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust... And the earth shall cast out the dead.” Is 26:19
Then AFTER:
📖 “Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, until the indignation is past.” Is 26:20
And the next verse tells us why:
📖 “For behold, the LORD comes out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity...” Is 26:21
🔗So, look at the prophetic sequence here: FIRST, resurrection. THEN, “Come, My people”—enter the chambers, hide, and rest. And AFTER that comes the indignation upon the earth.
THIS MAKES US THINK ABOUT PAUL:
📖 “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.” 1 Thes 4:16–17
Remember originally there were no chapter breaks—so after saying this Paul points directly to the Day of the Lord:
📖 “But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren... you yourselves know perfectly that the Day of the LORD so comes as a thief in the night.” 1 Thes 5:1–2
Look at Paul's train of thought:
👉🏼Trumpet of God
👉🏼 Dead in Christ rise
👉🏼Church caught up
👉🏼Then Paul immediately turns to the Day of the LORD
And centuries before Paul, look again at Isaiah's picture:
👉🏼The dead arise
👉🏼“Come, My people”
👉🏼Enter your chambers
👉🏼 Hide until the indignation passes
👉🏼 The LORD comes to punish the inhabitants of the earth
THE PARALLEL IS AMAZING!
And this year—coincidentally— 1 Tishrei, the first full day of Trumpets—falls on the Sabbath, which is THE DAY OF REST!! I LOVE IT!!
NOW — LOOK AT THE WORLD INTO WHICH THIS FEAST IS ARRIVING.
This is where things get really interesting!! Because Trumpets 2026 is not arriving in a quiet world by any stretch of the imagination. It is arriving while the convergence we have already been watching seems to be getting LOUDER!
🗓️I posted last week about Joel already, so I'm gonna try to not repeat my self. But remember what Peter said in his inaugural message to the Church at Pentecost, when he pointed directly back to Joel:
📖 “And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, BEFORE the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.” Acts 2:19–20
🔔A QUICK NOTE HERE: Some understand the Day of the LORD as referring only to Armageddon at the end of the Tribulation. I understand it as the 7 year tribulation period of judgment associated with Daniel’s 70th Week—not only its final battle.
👉🏼Paul says the Day of the LORD comes “as a thief in the night,” when people are saying “Peace and safety!” and then “sudden destruction” comes upon them (1 Thes 5:2–3). After seven years of catastrophic judgment, nobody will be saying "peace and safety" as preparing for Armageddon.
Back to what I was saying: since I wrote that post last week, the signs haven’t gotten quieter… THEY JUST KEEP PILING ON!!!
⚠️We’re not looking at one volcano and saying, “THIS IS JOEL.” We’re not looking at one earthquake, one war, one eclipse, or one column of smoke and saying, “PROPHECY FULFILLED.” WE’RE JUST LOOKING AT THE CLUSTER. WE ARE LOOKING AT THE CONVERGENCE AND THE PROPHETIC RESEMBLANCE!
And look at what has been added to that picture just as we approach Trumpets:
🌋 ANAK KRAKATAU — INDONESIA
A continuous eruptive episode lasting approximately 25 hours. Ash sent 50,000 feet into the atmosphere. Jakarta's international airport was forced to close. Nearly 3,000 flights disrupted. 341,000 passengers stranded.
When I saw those towering plumes rising, I immediately thought of Joel’s language: “Pillars of smoke.” Fire. Ash. Towering plumes—so massive they were captured from space in NASA satellite imagery.
🔥 AND LOOK AT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN INDONESIA AT THE SAME TIME.
From September 1–7 alone, Indonesia's wildfire emissions reached 19.7 MILLION metric tons of CO₂—more than ONE-THIRD of the entire world's wildfire emissions during that period and 273% ABOVE the seasonal average. Authorities are calling this Indonesia's most intense wildfire season in 11 years, with massive haze now affecting millions of people.
THE MIDDLE EAST IS NOT CALMING DOWN EITHER: ISRAEL — IRAN — AND NOW THE CONFLICT IS WIDENING:
Last Thursday Prime Minister Netanyahu said:
🎙️“The achievements are immense, but there is still more to complete. I mean, first and foremost, the toppling of the regime. This regime in Iran — its end is near. It is weak, it is fighting for its life, it is faltering.”
🔔Remember what we're watching and waiting for. We're watching for that Jeremiah 49 “bow of Elam” to be broken, potentially opening a window of peace and security for Israel that could set the stage for Ezekiel 38.
And as of September 10, the conflict is spreading even further. Iran reports attacks on ships near the Strait of Hormuz, while Houthi advances and attacks are putting the chokepoint Bab el-Mandeb at risk.
Think about the geography:
⚠️ STRAIT OF HORMUZ — The world’s #1 oil chokepoint: DISRUPTED
⚠️ BAB EL-MANDEB — A critical global shipping chokepoint: AT RISK
⚠️ IRAN — ISRAEL — U.S. — HOUTHIS — SAUDI ARABIA
THE WAR IS NOT CONTRACTING, IT IS WIDENING!
AND THERE IS SOMETHING EVEN BIGGER HAPPENING AROUND ISRAEL RIGHT NOW.
🗡️As we approach Trumpets, two days ago, Sep 8th. international pressure for a TWO-STATE SOLUTION is intensifying again. The UK, France and Canada have announced new measures to protect that outcome—and they plan to take that effort directly to the UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY later this month.
And THAT immediately brings us back to Joel once again. Because Joel doesn't only speak about blood, fire, pillars of smoke and signs in the heavens. He also tells us what happens when the NATIONS gather concerning ISRAEL:
📖 “I will also gather all nations… on account of My people, My heritage Israel… THEY HAVE ALSO DIVIDED UP MY LAND.” Joel 3:2
👉🏼THAT is the part of the convergence I don't want us to miss. Israel is not somewhere on the sidelines of this picture—ISRAEL IS AT THE CENTER.
What makes this Trumpets season so extraordinary is THESE PARTICULAR PIECES coming together clearly at the same time. And THEN, on top of that geopolitical picture, look at what has been happening in the earth and the heavens.
LET'S ZOOM OUT FOR A SECOND HERE.
In just the last four weeks we have watched:
🌎 Major earthquakes — Colombia, Indonesia and Peru
⚫August 12 — Total solar eclipse
🔴August 27–28 — Deep partial lunar eclipse
🔥 September 1–7 — Indonesia wildfire emissions running 273% above the seasonal average
🌋 September 4–6 — Anak Krakatau’s extraordinary 25-hour eruptive episode
🇮🇱 September 8th: Growing international pressure for a TWO-STATE SOLUTION involving Israel’s land
⚔️ September 10th: Israel-Iran conflict continuing to widen across the region
THIS IS THE VERY TIGHT CLUSTER WE’RE LOOKING AT!!
And now, right as we arrive at TRUMPETS, listen to what Joel says:
📖“Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the LORD is coming, for it is at hand.” Joel 2:1
📜THE SAME PROPHET who spoke of blood, fire, pillars of smoke, the darkened sun and the blood moon ALSO CRIES: BLOW THE TRUMPET AND SOUND THE ALARM!!
👉🏼 Again—earthquakes happen, volcanoes erupt, fires burn, wars happen… ONE EVENT IS NOT OUR POINT—THE CONVERGENCE IS! We are not declaring Joel fulfilled. We are WATCHING, just as Scripture tells us to watch. We are watching the birth pains Jesus described while also seeing striking echoes of Joel’s prophetic language—and THAT is INCREDIBLY fascinating and worth paying attention to!!!
🔊Church: The Feast of Trumpets is here! Trumpets CALLED THE ASSEMBLY. Trumpets SIGNALED THE CAMP TO MOVE. Trumpets SOUNDED THE ALARM. And now the appointed time of the TRUMPET has arrived while the convergence we have been watching is not getting quieter… IT IS GETTING LOUDER!
Earthquakes. Fire. Bloodshed. Pillars of smoke. Signs in the heavens. THE PRESSURE OF NATIONS WANTING TO DIVIDE ISRAEL. And the “bow of Elam” looking closer than ever to breaking! Scripture never told us to sleep through the signs—it told us to WATCH!!!
So let’s KEEP WATCHING, KEEP PRAYING, KEEP PREACHING THE GOSPEL!! SOON WE WILL HEAR THE TRUMPET OF GOD, ENTER OUR CHAMBERS, AND FINALLY ENTER OUR DAY OF REST!! KEEP LOOKING UP!!
Maranatha! 🤍 Come, Lord Jesus, COME!!!
Your daily reminder is this:
Jerusalem belongs to the Lord!
It does not belong to Islam or the fake prophet Muhammad.
The day is coming!
Praise God for the Lamb of Jerusalem who was slain and LIVES!
WHAT IF MOCKING HIS RETURN IS ACTUALLY PROOF THAT SCRIPTURE WAS RIGHT? 👀
What if one of the clearest signs of the last days is not what believers are saying—but what the scoffers are saying?
Nearly 2,000 years ago, Peter predicted that people would arise asking one very specific question:
“Where is the promise of His coming?”
— 2 Peter 3:4
That is remarkably specific.
People would mock the promise of His return.
They would say:
“People have been saying that forever.”
“Nothing has happened.”
“Life keeps going.”
“Where is He?”
BUT HERE IS THE STUNNING IRONY: ⚠️
The scoffer thinks he is disproving prophecy.
Peter says the scoffer is fulfilling it.
The mockery itself was foretold.
“In the last days scoffers will come with scoffing…”
— 2 Peter 3:3
Peter even tells us how they will reason.
They will look at the apparent normalcy of life and conclude that nothing supernatural is coming.
The sun rises.
People work.
People marry.
Governments rise and fall.
Markets open.
Children are born.
Life continues.
So they assume judgment will never come.
But Jesus warned that this is exactly how the world can look right before everything changes.
“As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”
— Matthew 24:37
People were eating.
Drinking.
Marrying.
Planning.
Building ordinary lives.
And then judgment came.
The world looked normal right up until the moment it wasn’t.
DO NOT MISTAKE GOD’S PATIENCE FOR GOD’S ABSENCE. ⏳
“The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise… but is patient toward you.”
— 2 Peter 3:9
What the scoffer calls delay, God calls patience.
Every additional day is mercy.
Another day to repent.
Another day to believe.
Another day for the gospel to go out.
Another day before judgment falls.
Jude gives the same warning:
“In the last time there will be scoffers.”
— Jude 18
So when people laugh at prophecy…
When they mock the return of the Messiah…
When they sneer at those who are watching…
When they say, “Nothing is going to happen”…
Scripture has already told us what that attitude would look like.
AND THIS IS WHERE FULL PRETERISM COLLAPSES UNDER ITS OWN WEIGHT.
Full preterism says Christ’s promised return, the resurrection, and final judgment were fulfilled in AD 70 with Jerusalem’s destruction.
But that requires enormous portions of the New Testament to be radically redefined.
The visible coming of Christ.
The resurrection of the dead.
The gathering of believers.
The defeat of death.
The transformation of creation.
The final judgment.
These are not minor details.
They are central features of the biblical hope.
To force all of that into AD 70 means turning concrete promises into symbols because history plainly did not produce what the texts describe.
Jerusalem fell in AD 70.
But the dead were not raised.
Death was not abolished.
Creation was not renewed.
The nations did not behold the returning Messiah in glory.
The final judgment did not occur.
That is the real problem.
Not that AD 70 was insignificant.
It was enormously significant.
But it was not the Second Coming.
The prophecy is bigger than Jerusalem’s destruction.
And Peter’s central warning still stands:
Do not assume that because the promised day has not yet arrived, it never will.
AND HERE IS THE GREAT PARADOX:
The louder the world mocks the promise of His coming, the more closely it begins to resemble the world Peter described.
But the believer’s response is not panic.
Not date-setting.
Not sensationalism.
It is holiness.
Watchfulness.
Endurance.
Faithfulness.
Hope.
The scoffers ask:
“Where is the promise of His coming?”
The answer is simple:
The promise has not moved.
The Word has not changed.
The King has not forgotten.
The appointed day has not been canceled.
They may mock the promise.
They may redefine the promise.
They may try to bury the promise in AD 70.
But they cannot overturn the promise.
And perhaps the most astonishing part of all is this:
Even the scoffing was foretold. 🔥
He is coming.
