In a free society, no religion should be afforded greater protection or shielded from legitimate debate and criticism.

The official definition of Islamophobia — repackaged as “anti-Muslim hostility” — is a backdoor Islamic blasphemy law that has already been weaponised to silence legitimate criticism of Islam, its history and its practices.

Public bodies are already zealously adopting and enforcing their own bespoke definitions, which go even further.

The Free Speech Union took action against South Wales Police after it implemented guidance instructing officers to record any comment that went beyond “legitimate” discussion of Islam.

We threatened legal action, and they backed down.

The Free Speech Union will challenge any public body that seeks to implement an Islamic blasphemy law.

Just to remind these same folk:
You’ve not lifted 1/2m kids out of poverty. You’ve just moved them over a bureaucratic line on a Whitehall spreadsheet.
Your ‘workers rights’ are destroying entry-level jobs, hitting young people disproportionately, where unemployment is now over 16%.
You have not transformed the NHS. It’s still the same old wheezing leviathan, just with a lot more dosh and still dismal productivity.
And you’ve nationalised steel and rail before. It was not the prelude to an economic or industrial miracle. Plus you will now have to include their demands for capital/subsidies among all the other priorities already crowding in on the public purse.

The Home Office (with a sense of suicidal empathy) set up a fast track migration pathway for people from some of the most violent and war torn parts of the world.

This allowed the Sudanese Belfast stabbing suspect to be granted right to stay without an interview.

We somehow constructed a migration system making it incredibly hard for productive people from peaceful developed parts of the world to come here, while incredibly easy for non-contributing people from undeveloped violent parts of the world to be granted leave to remain.

This is insanity.
