Because in multi-communal Lebanon, majority is only meaningful within each community. Since Shia comprise 28% of Lebanon, a referendum-Yes cannot exceed 28%.

Lebanon should split & then each to their own.

Like Armenia, Israel and Ireland, Lebanon is a diaspora nation that shapes its character.

Many Muslims in Lebanon adopt Christian character without knowing.
