There is intense heat everywhere but many people don't know that this is due to climate change. It is the sum result of how we have handled the environment. I'm not a prophet of doom but things will get worse if we fail to take responsible actions to protect the environment NOW!
@PeterObi@NOIweala Condolence message is better private. You could have sent this to @NOIweala privately, and I believe you must have done that. So there is no good reason for this public show, save for the optics. You can do better than this.
Nigeria is really a study in absurdities. Imagine Seyi Makinde, sitting governor of Oyo State, voted into power on PDP ticket, went ahead to declared for, and was nominated as, Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate. In essence, he's a member of 2 political parties
Power supply is pretty good in my hood. Tho I have a generator, I've not used it in almost a year, and I've not seen any reason for a solar inverter. There was a major fault & no power for four days, now I can't imagine what people who live in areas with no power for days go thru
I've n't been feeling good, all day. Love for my students made me stay back, especially as their examination is here. I've done everything today with body ache and high temperature. Just as I got ready to leave, a very heavy downpour began. No regrets still. I love my students
I remember when Etisalat Nigeria came to my school during SUG Week. They were selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a brand-new car.
You needed to see how everyone was buying tickets. Even me sef, I bought 5 tickets. Who no wan win free motor? 😂
But there was this particular guy who went all out and bought about 20 tickets.
On the day of the raffle draw, the organizers spun the tickets and picked a winner. The first winning ticket landed on this guy, but he was nowhere to be found.
They picked a second ticket. It landed on him again.
They picked a third ticket. Still him.
By this point, the crowd was already going crazy. People ran to his hostel looking for him, only to discover that he had travelled home for the weekend to see his parents.
After several attempts to reach him failed, the organizers had no choice but to draw another winner.
This time, the ticket belonged to a guy who had bought just one ticket.
He showed up, collected the car, and throughout my remaining years in school, I saw him driving that car everywhere.
Till today, I still wonder how the first guy must have felt each time he saw that car on campus, knowing it could have been his.
Life can change in a single moment. May we never be absent when our moment comes. 🙏
Before now, Chibok girls were abducted and never fully returned. Leah Sharibu taken but never came back. Towns and villages sacked, and people killed. For many not directly affected, these were mostly headlines that didn't concern them. Today, everyone has found their voices.
Suddenly, many people, including celebrities have found their voices, and are now talking about insecurity in the country. It is not that they are concerned but they are doing so because the Oyo kidnapping means the danger is closer to Lagos, the final place of comfort. Hypocrisy
Insecurity has been ravaging many parts of the country, especially the North, yet people rarely talked bout the incidents beyond the headlines. Our self-styled celebrities were more concerned about packing cinemas, balling at clubs and other nonsense things. Hypocrites all.
@jon_d_doe This is how you get into problems. Loose talk online for clout. When you are now pressed by the taxman, you'll cry blue murder. You or your business pay 600k monthly as tax? Before the law, you are a separate entity from your registered business, I hope you know. So talk right
@kenkenlewu Across the world, the stability of public service is unrivalled. Though it might not bring the best of the job because bureaucracy, it gives room for vertical and horizontal development and stable trajectory.
Is Victor Osimhen as fantastic as Nigerians shout he is?
If he is, why is he playing in Turkey? When he won the Golden Boot at Napoli, interestingly the club voted Kvarashkelia as its player of the season, but some cried foul. Today, who's the better & elite player of the two?
