While you wait hours in A&E, NHS doctors in England are being forced into unemployment.

The Government has capped how many doctors can train to become specialist Consultants/GPs; creating a bottleneck in the NHS workforce.

This year, 30,000 doctors applied for just 10,000 speciality training posts. That’s thousands of doctors unable to help the public while NHS waiting lists grow.

@wesstreeting’s response? 2,000 extra speciality training spaces over 3 years. Nowhere near enough to fix the scale of this crisis - one of the reasons why resident doctors in England are going back out on strike.

Meanwhile, the public are being kept in the dark about the crisis.

When you have to wait months to be seen, remember - doctor unemployment is a political choice.
