The Cochrane Review on ECigs, well, to be honest, a second review from what i remember, is now out, and its overwhelmingly positive.

...and some heads of UK stop smoking have reacted positively to it...

THREAD ALERT!
If you're struggling to quit smoking and think you've tried everything, I'm going to offer you a list of 50 suggestions I found on the internet. First up, the inspiration for this project!

@JonathanFoulds@JMarkD50 If only we'd known about the potential of #harmreduction in, say, 2003 when the @FCTCofficial tobacco treaty was agreed... the whole history of #tobaccocontrol could have been radically different.
Oh, wait.... we did! https://t.co/zO6eLgZ41c
“… regular NNP use of 1 year or more is associated with current smoking or ex-smoking and we report little use amongst never-smokers; this is an important finding as with the rise of NNP there has been concerns raised regarding use by never-smokers. “ 1/2 https://t.co/apz0YaPn9G

I have just heard that the UK's main clinical research funding agency, NIHR, has withdrawn all funding from the Cochrane Collaboration! I can barely take this in. It seems an astonishing thing to do. We all rely on the Cochrane Tobacco Addiction Group's work.
@CDCgov You claim this is a FACT. But 15 past-Presidents of the Society for Research on Nicotine & Tobacco say it's only speculative, based on rodent studies.
If your claim is correct, then 1/3rd of all US adults living today would have brain harms. They don't.

@JonathanFoulds@panthernoster See 5 direct problems:
1. sample size not mentioned
2. overlap in CI
3. very wide CI (indicating tiny sample size)
4. NO report on mental outcome.problems
5. Not open access
and two extra:
NO report after birth on either mother still abstinent.
NO report on health outcome baby
Woof! The proportion of UK adults who use e-cigarettes has rebounded to 2019 levels (7.1%).
64.6% of vapers are now ex-smokers (dual use has been declining for many years).
But 32% of UK smokers still believe, incorrectly, that vaping is more/equally harmful as smoking.
