Naoki Hamaguchi says FF7 Remake series Battle Director Teruki Endo came up with the FITS job system in FF7 Revelation!
They wanted to add to the FF7 Remake combat instead of completely changing it so Endo-san came up with the FITS concept.
They thought about job Materia but decided on job FITS that are separate from Materia. Each character has 4 FITS that have unique move sets. Endo-san wanted all the FITS to be available from the start so players don't just stick with the first jobs available and can customize their characters as they see fit.
