Kabale Regional Referral Hospital was awesome.
Through consultation in every region, in every hospital, with every doctor we meet, we draw on our collective intelligence to shape the future of U.M.A. Alongside this, we educate about U.M.A and inspire because it is through these consultations that the vision of a brighter tomorrow is reimagined, where hope is renewed, and where young doctors and interns are empowered to cast their votes with knowledge, confidence, and conviction.

Today Sunday 24th August 2025, Dr. Frank R. Asiimwe @RubabindaJr, the Vice President of the Uganda Medical Association, concluded his 4-day consultative tour of #Buddu, #Ankole and #Kigezi U.M.A Branches with a visit to Kisiizi Hospital.
The visit began with a service at St. John's Chapel. The sermon, drawn from Philippians 2:1-15, emphasized humility and self-sacrifice as key virtues of leaders.
The service concluded with a blessing for Dr. Asiimwe as he embarks on his pursuit of the U.M.A presidency.
The service was followed by a meeting with the medical doctors at the facility, who voiced their needs, hopes, and frustrations. Dr. Asiimwe shared his memories of Kisiizi Hospital from 1993, when he was a third-year medical student. It was there that his love for surgery was born and nurtured, with mentorship from Dr. Andrew Hodges, a visiting general surgeon from Kagando Hospital.
Dr. Asiimwe encouraged the young doctors to embrace the opportunity to work in a rural hospital, as it provides a valuable lifetime experience that may be difficult to obtain in urban settings. He also urged them to join the Uganda Medical Association and to vote for him and other like-minded leaders to transform the fortunes of the medical profession. He strongly discouraged the formation of "cabals," which he stated have been responsible for the turbulent leadership in the Uganda Medical Association for the last four years. He invited all doctors to subscribe, support, and be ready to vote for a strong, visionary leadership on November 8, 2025, at the Las Vegas Hotel in Mbarara.
