HUGE #FFIDP NEWS: The Dolphins have released Tyrel Dodson.

That clears the way for Jacob Rodriguez to start at MIKE, and all indications are that he’ll wear the green dot and play an every-down role next to Jordyn Brooks.

I was already 29 spots higher than consensus on Rodriguez, and I’m moving him WAY up my LB rankings with this news.

#Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty, who had to be helped off the practice field today, is believed to have sprained his ankle, sources tell @AdamSchefter and me.

Las Vegas still are unsure how long he will be out, but it is not considered a long-term injury and the organization is breathing a sigh of relief.

Assuming we don’t get any clarity on the Ashton Jeanty injury before waivers run in redraft, how should managers handle the FAAB budget for Mike Washington?

Feels like 75% could honestly be a fair mark, if not more. Essentially buying a 3-5th-round pick should Jeanty be out.

Like many, I get asked for draft advice on the daily in August.

Here are the best tips I always give out:

1. Drafting BPA is often the best route.

2. I’m all for taking an elite QB or TE. But do one, not both.

3. Spend late picks on players that can prove early what they are.

Ball knowers remember that when Johnathan Hankins signed somewhere, that team became the one to avoid that week for fantasy RBs.

One of the best run defenders.

Veteran DT Johnathan Hankins tells me he is retiring from the NFL after 12 seasons.

An outstanding career for the former 2nd-round pick out of Ohio State, who was drafted by the Giants and also played for the Colts, Raiders, Cowboys, and Seahawks. Hankins appeared in 169 career games and was among the league’s premier run-stuffing interior defensive linemen.

I’ve been moderate on Jalen Coker’s hype train. This, though, should all but ensure his status as the No. 2 target on a team without an established receiving TE/RB.
