@FreyaHolmer This issue does not exist in Spanish/Italian, both vector and scalar are "velocidad"/"velocità". I'm not sure but probably in French as well (Vitesse).

There are synonyms for these words, (rapidez = velocidad, for example) but I don't recall them being used in this context
