What’s hilarious is Sinn Féin claimed FF had no right to be in government because exit poll placed FF 3rd.

Now that FF are first and @sinnfeinireland are 3rd after real poll SF now claim they should be in government.

Today, I return to Leinster House as one of three TDs for Dublin North West. It has always been an honour to represent my community, but I was blown away by the support I received right across the area, increasing my vote and exceeding the quota.

I am looking forward to working with Dessie and Rory for the good of this area.

The work starts again today, and as I said on the campaign, there remains a lot to do to make our country and our community better, and I'm committed to that work.

Well done to all the volunteers that campaigned. We may disagree, but democracy needs the participation of people, and it was amazing to see so many people involved. But it was the work I saw at first hand of my own team of volunteers that I will never forget. They gave every ounce of energy right to the last hour of the campaign. A small band of dedicated people can make a real difference.

That's the spirit of community that I have believed in for the last 20 years and the spirit that makes our community of sports clubs, community organisations, residents associations, and many more so amazing.

I want to abolish the means test for Carers Allowance • Ensure that on reaching pension age carers can retain the rate at which they are paid their Carers Allowance, and concurrently receive the State Pension. • Provide full-rate Carer’s Allowance for those caring for two individuals and a Half-Rate Carer’s Allowance for any additional people. • Increase the annual Carer’s Support Grant to €2,500.

In todays Older Persons Manifesto, I committed that Fianna Fáil will abolish the means test for Carers Allowance should we be part of the next government. The Carers Allowance saves the state millions, and that must be recognised and no longer regarded only as a social assistance payment. #carersallowance
