Please remember to be kind to each other; treat fellow human beings with love, compassion, and understanding.
Except the invaders. They can burn, the sooner the better.
We’re here for Ukraine, so respect Ukrainians. Listen. Learn. It’s high time everyone else do that much.
@USAmbCanada@ICEgov Lmao. Yeah. Sure. I bet they’re really “committed”. Not so sure it’s to transparency though, them acting like your secret police and all.
Kindly f- off. Americans are liars, with a fascist government.
Thank you to our Polish, Estonian, Latvian friends and others for your support in The Walk of Honour today in #Vancouver , and to the @VancouverPD for keeping everything safe and peaceful.
@mandhistorian@canucklesandwic@goblin__soup Those soldiers were definitely something else...downright sociopathic, perhaps. There are some accounts that effectively amounted to "we're here to win this war as expeditiously as possible" when asked about why they continued night raids and other...horrifying things.
@mandhistorian@canucklesandwic@goblin__soup "Slaves" is a bit harsh, and also inaccurate. During both world wars we were a dominion of the British Empire, and actually did have independence enough to say no. Canada *chose* to jump-into the fray both times to defend/liberate Europe.
@maccoolm @Heroiam_Slava Their defense industry is already losing sales, so much so they’ve been begging their government to change their decisions.
Everyone is wary of them now, because what good is a weapon system if you can’t hand it to your neighbour when they’re defending you?
It's kind of unsettling if not alarming how actors like MAGA or AfD have come to be perceived as a normal part of the political life in their respective countries.
Advocates and plain lobbyists for autocratic states shouldn't have a seat at the table of any democratic discourse.
Stop using the word “territory”. It’s not territory. It’s people. Anyone arguing Ukraine should give-up “territory” is also arguing to abandon people to the Russians, and I’m getting *really* tired of this slight-of-hand. https://t.co/HoyYPPwEA2
I am very grateful for everyone here who continues to follow the news about Ukraine every day, listen to Ukrainians and donate to help Ukraine. Thank you for supporting us and for dedicating your time and energy to caring about Ukrainians
@Baldurdash50 I believe you mean molten-salt reactors? They are much safer. The fuel cycle is a different kettle of fish. We could happily run MSRs using uranium though and indeed the first ones plan to, to reduce complexity.
Everyone please just shut-up and let us build nuclear fission power plants. Please. I’m begging you. Our energy needs are a solved problem. The “waste” is solved *and* we have even better solutions in the horizon for it too. We could power civilization for thousands of years.
Please be kind to Ukrainians, especially those who are often on the front lines and see real h€II, they are trying to survive and save our home...
What I see sometimes surprises me...
The UN-based post-WWII security order is broken. @UN has proven wholly incapable of preventing or stopping genocide. Even as Russia’s war of aggression rages, we must look to the future. The 21st C needs a global alliance of democracies. My piece at @cepa: https://t.co/6ONwNskLLr
