There has never been anyone like Barney Frank. And there never will be again.
Brilliant. Fearless. Hilarious.
But beneath the sharp wit was a deep moral conviction. Barney could not stay silent in the face of injustice, and he never backed down from those who tried to justify it.
He was a champion for LGBTQ rights long before it was popular. He helped rebuild fairness and stability in our economy through Dodd-Frank. He fought for healthcare, reproductive freedom, racial justice, immigrants' rights, criminal justice reform, veterans, affordable housing, food security, environmental protection, and so much more.
He worked with joy, humor and passion, and also with strategy and with pragmatism. He worked across parties and differences, negotiated difficult agreements, and took hard-earned wins, knowing he’d be back to fight another day.
Most of all, Barney brought his full, authentic self to public service. He never apologized for it. And in doing so, he changed what was possible for generations of Americans.
He was one of the greatest legislators of our time. He was an inspiration to so many of us.
Thank you, Barney.
On this D-Day, we honor the courage of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944. We remember those who served, those who sacrificed, and those who never came home. #DDay#mapoli

Boston Common’s Memorial Day display honors every Massachusetts service member who gave their life defending this country.
❤️
Every year, thousands of American flags are planted on Boston Common to honor the service members who gave their lives for our country. Each one represents a person, a family, and a sacrifice that made our freedoms possible.
What makes this memorial so meaningful is that it’s built by people showing up, year after year, to remember. A simple act of love and gratitude that, together, becomes something even more powerful.
For 250 years, Americans in every generation have answered the call to serve — an unbroken line that started right here in Massachusetts with the National Guard and the battles of Lexington and Concord.
Ahead of Memorial Day, @JLydgate and I joined @homebaseprogram to honor the fallen, the veterans who carry their memory forward, and the families we’re committed to supporting every day. We will never forget your loved ones, their service, or the sacrifice they made for our country 🇺🇸
Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms, stepmoms, grandmas, and mother figures across Massachusetts.
Moms are doing the hard, beautiful and important work every single day. Thank you for everything 💐
Every day, the @MassStatePolice show up ready to face danger so the rest of us can be safe. Massachusetts is mourning one of our heroes.
Heartbroken by the tragic death a Trooper in the line of duty overnight in Lynnfield. His family and fellow Troopers are in my prayers.
Happy Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month!
As one of the fastest growing communities in Massachusetts, AANHPI Bay Staters in every industry and every city and town make our state stronger. That’s something to celebrate this month and always.
Chag Pesach Sameach! Wishing a joyous Passover to our Jewish neighbors in Massachusetts and around the world.
May this season of renewal bring peace and hope to all who celebrate.
